Mission:
Mission 77 - No Time for the Dishonored
Location: SB400's Task Group
Timeline: Current
OFF: Okay, so here's the general plan. We're going to be confronted by Toral's ship. As we try to talk him down, the other Klingon ships we just met (that said they were after Toral) attack us. As we go to Red Alert additional Klingon ships decloak to aid Toral.
So of course, we have a big fight. lol When we close out this JP out, we call in the rest of the ships from SB400 for assistance and Toral makes a run for it. After that of course we'll go after him, more posts, another small engagement, then wrap up the mission and return to SB400.
Below is my post, please feel free to add in you posts as needed. Let's make this a good one!
ON:
"Captain, I'm picking up a ship ahead. Excelsior class...it's the Aegean sir!" Ensign K'Wor reported.
Captain K`Temoc stood behind Dar, looking at the sensor readings. "Multiple hull fractures...Klingon weapons signature. No life signs..."
"Ease us in Chief." Bremer order to Branson as he stood from his chair. "Pegasus to all ships, spead out and secure the area, continued sensor sweeps. Pegasus out."
The ships in the Task Force broke formation and moved out in all directions to cover the area. Tarq's Klingon ships remained close to the Pegasus, as did Yorktown and Laffey.
"Admiral, there's a ship decloaking, it's a Klingon Negh'Var class!" Harrison reported.
The large Klingon assault cruiser decloaked on the other side of the USS Aegean and slowly rose over the remains of the vessel and moved past her, toward the Pegasus.
"Sir, their shields are up, but weapons are on standby." Harrison added.
"Hail them." Mike requested.
On the screen appeared one of most dishonored Klingons of the era, and an old thorn in the side of the Federation.
"Toral...why did you attack a Federation ship?" Bremer asked as soon as the channel opened.
"Humph, that's the first thing you ask? Not, how did I get off Penthe? After all, it was you that put me there!" Toral replied.
"Is that what this is about? Revenge? Attack a Federation ship, try to draw out the people you feel have wronged you? Where is the honor in that?" Bremer asked.
Toral smiled, "It was easy to find out the location of you and the Pegasus, after all the Klingon Empire and Federation are allies...but I didn't attack this ship."
As soon as Toral finished his sentence, the Pegasus was rocked by disruptor fire...from astern. General Tarq's ships were firing, from near point blank range.
"Return fire Captain!" Bremer ordered. While on the screen, Toral smirked and laughed before the comm channel was closed.
As the two Birds of Prey fired, both of them exploded in a ball of flame. The Yorktown and Laffey each taking one out with a burst of pulse phasers and quantum torpedo salvo.
"Chief, evasive maneuvers, gamma sequence, full impulse."
As the Pegasus turned away, phaser fire lanced out, raking the shields of both Negh'Var class ships.
Seeing the Pegasus come under fire, the rest of the Task Force reversed course and raced to her air. As they closed in, additional Klingon ships decloaked. No less than eight Birds of Prey, five Vorcha class attack cruisers, and three k't inga class cruisers.
Two Birds of Prey went after the USS Endeavor, the science ship looked like an easy target.
"Pegasus to Steadfast, cover the Endeavor. Yorktown..." before Mike could finish static was heard over the comm...
"Pegasus repeat..." K'Temoc paused a moment, "The Klingons must be jamming communications. He glanced at the sensor monitor on his left side panel, "Colonel Sosuke, see that k't inga class cruiser trying to flank us? Let's give her something to think about. Attack pattern beta-three, take us in!"
==USS Avenger - Bridge==
The Avenger was at yellow alert keeping an eye out for anything suspicious.
"Sir, the Pegasus is under attack!"
Ryan didn't even take a moment to determine who said it.
"Helm, reverse course! Tactical arm all weapons, target the two birds of prey in weapons range. Full photon spread on my mark."
The ships noticed the Avenger and started on intercept courses. Also a Vorcha class ship fell in behind the two birds of prey. A wave of disruptor fire came from the two birds of prey and impacted the ship. The Avenger shuttered under the impact. The tactical officer looked at Ryan concerned.
"Sir, we are in range."
"Understood Ensign. Hold our course and wait for my mark."
Another wave of fire hit the Avenger.
"Sir, shields are down to 75%" K'Wor reported from Tactical.
Ryan nodded.
"This is as good as time as any. Fire!"
The salvo of torpedoes impacted both of the birds of prey. One buckled and ignited into a ball of flame. The other seemed to absorb the impact, but was short lived. The ship began to drift. The Vorcha began its attack. The Avenger shuttered again.
"Alright Ensign, lets show them what we can do. Attack pattern Gamma 2-1. Divert axillary power to the forward weapons. Fire at will."
The attack impacted the ship's shields, but they continued to fire back. This was going to be a rough fight. His ships wasn't as agile as the Defiant, nor as well armed.
Lee was working furiously at his post when he spoke up, "Captain, I'm picking up an Excelsior-class starship directly ahead."
"On Screen." Winter ordered.
The screen shifted to show the USS Aegean. "I'm showing multiple hull fractures sir." Said Thorin from his console.
"Life signs?" Winter asked
"None sir. But I am detecting Klingon weapons signatures." Said M'Kota, the Klingon Exchange Lieutenant temporarily serving aboard Laffey as tactical officer.
Winter rubbed his chin. So Klingons were in fact responsible for the destruction. Laffey was still at Yellow Alert with shields raised.
"Brandy, slow and steady." Winter said.
"Aye." the ensign chipped in calmly.
Winter and his bridge crew heard, "Pegasus to all ships, spread out and secure the area, continued sensor sweeps. Pegasus out."
James noted the concern in the Admiral's voice. " You heard the Admiral let's secure the area, starting with the Agean." The Remains of the Excelsior Class vessel would have to be secured so no one not even Klingons could board her and gather secrets.
Lee's voice rose with alarm.. "Klingon Ship de-cloaking."
"What?"
"It's Negh'Var class!"
James now had a feeling. "This doesn't look good." Winter commented. "Sir, PEGASUS has been hit!"
"Battlestations!" Winter snapped. "Brandy, evasive maneuvers, Delta Sequence!"
The Bridge bathed in blood red. Eight Birds of Prey, five Vorcha class attack cruisers, and three k't inga class cruisers all decloaked for the party.
"Lock phasers on the Nearest Bird of Prey and fire!"
Laffey let loose like a vengeful god on the Bird of Prey which the ship destroyed, brandy took the ship right thru their remains.
"Sir." David said, "Klingons are heading for Endeavor."
"Brandy, break right, full impulse, target the Klingons." Laffey raced towards the Klingons bearing down on Endeavor.
Lt. Gilmore was sitting at Science one and reported to Coleman, "Sir, I'm detecting the Agean! There are no life-signs from the ship, but I am detecting a Negh'Var class."
Then, a moment passed as Ariel said, "We've got more ships un-cloaking sir!"
Coleman raised for his seat as he said, "Red Alert, all hands to battle stations. Ariel, get me information on this ships and their capabilities. Lt. Henderson, get me phasers and photon torpedoes aimed at any ships coming this way."
Henderson said, "We've got at least two Birds-of-Prey coming straight for us. Firing phasers and photons."
Just as Henderson fired them, the ship rocked from a few disruptor blasts from the birds-of-prey that were bearing down on them. It caused the security/tactical station to explode and hurt Henderson and a medical team took him to sickbay and Gilmore took his place.
Gilmore, after transferring tactical, said, "We've got another bird-of-prey coming down on us, as well as a vorcha-class."
Coleman looked at her and said, "I have a plan, but I need to get the other COs on subspace. Work on it. Helm, keep trying to evade the other ships while I work on my plan." Then, Coleman went to work on trying to modify a photon torpedo to work as an EM pulse, to knock out sensors of the enemy ships.
--USS Constantinople-Bridge--
Damian was sitting in his office working on a Force Readiness Report when the alert tones started to blare. He jumped from his seat and ran into the corridor. As soon as he stepped into the corridor, two Marines flanked him. Saluting promptly, the more senior of the two, a Staff Sergeant by the looks of his insignia, spoke.
"Sir, we'll need you to come with to the Marine Barracks." the staff sergeant said. Damian bristled slightly.
"Staff Sergeant, disregard that order. I need to get to the bridge, are we clear?" Damian asked, an edge going into his tone. The Staff Sergeant gulped slightly and then turned to the other Marine, a Corporal and after a moment, they both nodded.
"We'll arrange site to site transport for you, sir." the Corporal said as he tapped a few words into his wrist computer. Without warning, Damian was transported to the center of the bridge or three feet the air above it. Damian felt himself fall and hit the deck with a thud. Before anyone turned around, he picked himself and composed himself. He turned to the Command Duty Officer, a Lieutenant in Operations yellow.
"Where's the General, Lieutenant and why was I not called before?" Damian asked, none too pleased that he wasn't informed about the absence of his superior.
The Lieutenant spoke "Sir, she beamed off the ship a few hours-" the Lieutenant knew that it was wise for him to finish his sentence. Damian pointed with his thumb and gestured for the Lieutenant to vacate the chair. Taking his seat, Damian turned to the Lieutenant who was now at the Operations station.
"Tactical Status Report!" Damian ordered the Commander at the Tactical station.
"Sir, we have been ordered to respond to a distress call from the USS Aegean, it looks like some of the other ships have engaged a group of ships, one Klingon cruiser and another Vor'cha class." the Commander said
Damian nodded at this "Helm, take us in at maximum feasible speed. Ops, allocate all available to shields. Tactical, concentrate your fire on their forward shields and dorsal shields. " Damian sat back and waited. The ship went forward like a slingshot, weaving into the exchange of fire. He felt the ship rock from side to side from the massive explosions. He could see the helmsman, Master Chief Kaden Lee was handling the ship like it was a fighter. Commander Elroy was firing phasers in concentrated bursts. The colonel looked at the viewscreen and saw the dorsal shields wink out below them.
"Tactical, fire phasers on burst mode. Fire to disable the engines on that Klingon Cruiser." No sooner has Damian spoke, two bursts of bright blue light lanced out and hit the two nacelles of the Klingon cruiser. It slowly came to a stop and the window lights dimmed.
Commander Elroy looked up to get Damian's attention
"Sir, Admiral Bremer is on Alpha frequency."
Damian nodded "Put him through."

"Pegasus to all ships, we've managed to cut though the Klingon jamming signal. 'Noble, I need you to form up on the Saratoga and cover her while she's launching fighters. Laffey, form up with the Avenger, the Steadfast can cover the Endeavor. Venator, you're with us."
As Bremer gave the orders, the Klingons broke into three groups. One group, the three Negh'Var class ships with one Vorcha and five Birds of Prey formed started to bare down on the Pegasus. Three Vorcha and two Birds of Prey formed a support group on the Negh'Vars right flank. The remaining Vorcha and Birds of Prey continued on toward the Endeavor and Steadfast.
Seeing the Klingon's deployment, Bremer gave new orders. "Yorktown, Vanguard, Avenger, form up on the Venator and us."
"Saratoga, Constantinople, Laffey, Endeavor, and Steadfast take the support group on their right flank."
"Attack fighters, one squadron join up on each of our groups."
The ships and smaller fighters all started to move to their assigned positions, facing off with the larger Klingon force.
<>
"Colonel, bring us along side the Pegasus. Mr. Smith, now it's really going to get rough" K'Temoc said with a smirk.
<>
"Ensign, send a message to Starbase 400 to apprise them of our situation. Included our current position and damage reports. Captain, hail Toral." Bremer ordered as he glanced at the sensor readout.
Toral appeared on the screen. "Ready to beg for your life, half-breed?"
"Hardly. We've already taken out a few of your Birds of Prey and damaged a cruiser. Your dishonor will be your own undoing Toral. Surrender now."
The comm channel closed and the screen returned to the view of the stars and Toral's ships.
"Admiral, here they come." Harrison reported.
Mike nodded, then took a breath before speaking. "Pegasus to all ships, full impulse, we're going in."
<>
Lee sat in the command chair watching the battle as several Klingon ships had been destroyed or disabled:"Sgt. Maal launch fighters attack pattern Alpha 2."
Sgt. Maal:"Yes sir launching fighters now."
Just then all fighters launched from the Saratoga engaging the nearest Klingon ship.
Lee:"Sgt. Maal lock phasers and photon torpedoes and the nearest Klingon ship and fire."
Sgt. Maal:"Yes sir locking on target and firing."
The Saratoga and it's fighters coordinating their attack onto a Bird of Prey.
It had taken a couple of minutes for Commander Coleman and one of the Junior tactical officers to complete the work on his idea. Once him and one of the Junior Tactical officers finished up on the EM torpedo, Ariel chimed in and said, "We've gotten through the jamming frequencies, so we can contact the fleet. Should I open a frequency?"
Coleman got up and said, "Open hailing frequency to the Pegasus. I want to talk to the Admiral about it."
Ariel nodded and opened a channel to the Pegasus. As the channel opened, Coleman said, "Endeavor to Pegasus. I might have an idea on how to knock out some of the Klingon ships, but it's going to involve a slight tweak to the task group's shields. Permission to go ahead with the plan?"
<>
Bremer listened to Coleman's plan over the comm, but the Klingons were already bearing in. "Make it quick!"
As the comm channel closed, Mike looked at his tactical readout, the Klingons were in torpedo range.
"Pegasus to all ships, open fire!"
With the go ahead, Coleman went ahead with the shield modifications with the help of the one Junior Tactical officer. It took less than several seconds and then, Coleman said, "Fire the torpedo at the most dense part of the Klingons when ready."
With that, the torpedo was launched and went forward to a group of 2 birds-of-pray and 3 Vorcha class attack cruisers. When it exploded, they didn't fire; their ships were blinded. It didn't affect the lead ship and a few that were off in a distance. But, it had stopped a few of them from attacking for at least a good moment.
The Saratoga and the fighters had managed to disable one Klingon ship and where heading for another one.
Lee half turned:"Sgt. Maal have the fighters attack the next Klingon ship using Attack Pattern Wolf 5."
Sgt. Maal:"Yes sir"
Lee turned back and shook his head:"These have got to be some of the craziest Klingons have met."
OFF:
Yep, major JP here from all the ship COs (at least the ones not on LOA, lol) One thing I'd like everyone to do to help keep things organized, please add your ship's name in the location, and at the top of your post. Ship COs, please remember who's assigned to your ships and help them to be involved too!
Now's let's all have some fun!
