Mission: Episode 94 - Return to Rashanar
Location: USS Conqueror, dasilvor personal quarters
Timeline: MD4, 0900

Andre was getting ready to depart the Conqueror for the station. As usual while waiting for his wife to get ready, he was catching up on station news. He suddenly stopped reading and leaned back in his chair. He blew out through his teeth, then called his wife and stood up.

"How about that, Sweetheart. Disobey orders, put an entire mission and peoples lives at risk and what happens. You get promoted to flag rank. Perhaps I ought to try it, see if I can get a promotion."

He left the screen up showing the announcement that Colonel Hurd had been promoted to Brigadier General.

Dalenna looked over his shoulder, "It doesn't seem fair, does it?" She put her arms around him, "I wouldn't recommend doing what he did though. With our luck, we'd be court-martialed. Besides, do you really want to be remembered for being a...jerk?" That wasn't the word that she was thinking of but she was being nice.

Andre put his hand on his wife's arm, " You're right of course. If it hadn't been for your cool head, I would probably been booted out of the service years ago. But it does make me wonder what the top brass are thinking, when insubordination not only goes unpunished, it gets rewarded. What sort of message does that send to the lower ranks. Perhaps I should have done what he said he would do if an officer under his command had done the same thing".

Dalenna let him go and moved so she could see his face, "Oh? What exactly did he say?"

Andre looked at his wife's face for a second, then just said "Shoot them! He said he would shoot them."

Dalenna was taken aback for a moment, "That would solve everything." She was, of course, being sarcastic, "Look. If it bothers you that much, why don't you talk to Admiral Bremer? All I can do is listen." She put her hand on his, "Not that I mind listening."

He smiled at his wife, "Many a true word spoken in jest, Sweetheart. But, it does bother me, so I'll make an appointment to see him and if nothing else get my side of the story and my concerns registered." He looked at the clock on the wall and sighed, "In the mean time I suppose we better get ourselves back on to the station." At which point he pulled his wife towards him and gave her a kiss, "I know you can only listen, but I appreciate it. It allows me to think straight."

"Good, I'm glad." She kissed him back, "Good luck with your meeting with Admiral Bremer. If you want to talk after that, you'll find me in security." She didn't want to go back to work but she had some things to do.

"Shall we go?" She walked towards the door and waited for Andre to follow.
