Mission: Episode 94 - Return to Rashanar
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: MD1 1140hrs, Following 'Future Planning'

ON:

K’Temoc made his way to his Office. He’d been released from Sick Bay earlier in the day and while his throat was still a little sore and his voice not quite back to normal yet, he had reports to read. Overnight, his new Task Force XO for Task Force 99 had been reassigned to Task Force 38. K’Temoc had barely met Cantos before he was reassigned. The Devonshire would still finish their mission to investigate the loss of the Defiant Class USS Falcon however and K’Temoc was eager to find out just what happened to his old ship.

Also during the night, a new Task Force 99 XO had been assigned, and this one K’Temoc did know, in passing anyway. Rear Admiral S'iraa. Like Fleet Admiral Bremer, S’iraa was a former CO of the Forth Fleet (a few years after Mike had held the position) and had resigned. The Caitian had retired but was recently asked to come out of retirement to take the open position of TF99 XO. K’Temoc made sure to send him a message welcoming him to the position and inviting him to a meeting at Starbase 400. S’iraa’s ship, the USS Dreadnought was a massive Ascension class ship and K’Temoc looked forward to taking a tour of the vessel.

Once arriving in his Office, K’Temoc looked over the details of the Rashanar mission. His fiancé was assigned to the Kearsarge under Roebuck’s command. He planned to spend a little time with Danielle before she departed. He then looked over a hand full of reports from Task Force 99’s ships, reports from the Klingon Civil War including Chancellor Martok’s recent slaying of General J’mpok in ritual combat. K’Temoc read reports that said evidence was found that Klingon Loyalist Politician turned General J’mpok was supporting the Opposition Forces. After further investigation it was found J’mpok is providing Opposition Forces intel, supplies, and ships. He was also found to have ‘faked’ attacks against Opposition Forces and forged reports. J’mpok was called to QonoS under the guise of attending a top level meeting of The High Council and Loyalist Fleet Commanders. Once the meeting began Chancellor Martok called J’mpok’s loyalty into question and showed him evidence of his treason. J’mpok challenged Martok to ritual combat and for the position of the Chancellor of the Klingon Empire. In a brutal fight, J’mpok injured and nearly killed Martok, but the Chancellor managed to slay the traitor by stabbing him though his left eye as J’mpok went in for the kill. The event strengthened the Loyalist Commanders’ resolve to end the civil war soon and plans were drawn up for a major offensive.

Being half Klingon and a member of the House of Martok, K’Temoc, like his brother Mike, wanted to do more to aid the Klingon Loyalist Forces, but was under orders not to interfere. He leaned back in his chair for a moment, but the door chime sounded.

K’Temoc sat his straight and said, “Enter.” It was obvious his voice was still scratchy, but better than it had been.

The door opened and his older brother walked in. “Couldn’t wait to get back to work?” Mike asked with a smile.

“More like couldn’t wait to get out of Sick Bay.” K’Temoc replied as he sat a PADD down on his deck.

Mike took a seat opposite of K’Temoc and glanced at the PADD. “So the official report doesn’t say were the Klingons received the intel on J’mpok from? Probably for the best.”

“You hadn’t read the report yet?” K’Temoc asked, kind of surprised.

“Hadn’t gotten around to it yet.” Mike responded.

K’Temoc cocked his head to the side, that wasn’t a typical answer from Mike. Like K’Temoc, being half Klingon and a member of the House of Martok, Mike also had a vested interest in the Empire. “You already knew about it...you tipped the Loyalists off.”

Mike nodded. “I was in the CiC and monitoring an engagement J’mpok was supposed to be leading. Something was rather odd about it, there was a pattern.” Mike handed a PADD to K’Temoc. “Logs of the battle, ship movements, everything.”

“Starfleet Command or Fleet Admiral Sevlek know you sent this to Martok?” K’Temoc asked.

“I advised Starfleet Command and copied Sevlek.” Mike replied. “Sevlek hasn’t been aboard the Station in a while so I couldn’t tell him first, but Starfleet Command signed off on it and gave their blessing since we still weren’t actively getting involved in their civil war.”

K’Temoc nodded. “Obviously defending Federation territory was permissible, Archanus being an example.”

Mike nodded.

“How’s the Pegasus coming?” K’Temoc asked.

“Commander Solomon said she’s nearly ready. She’s almost an entirely new vessel. I’m ready to get her back into space.” Mike replied.

“Are you taking her on the Delta Quadrant mission to send aid to the Talaxians?” K’Temoc asked.

Mike nodded. “I am. Deela is taking the Essex and Commander Stark will command the Lexington. While we’re away I want you to mind the store here.”

“Can do.” K’Temoc replied.

“Oh, before I forget, Jewel is on her way back from Vulcan to re-assume her position. She’ll be going to the Delta Quadrant too, but while we’re gone can you make sure repair work to the Sutherland is finished?” Mike asked.

“Good, and sure can. Any other ships down still?” K’Temoc asked.

“The Tiriptz, and she’ll be a while. The Avenger is finally going through her upgrade to Slipstream and other key systems so she’ll be down a while. Here’s a full list of our defense force now, we’ve added a few ships.” Mike handed K’Temoc a PADD.

“Named the new Interceptor class ship Falcon?” K’Temoc smiled.

The door chimed again and in walked Danielle. “I’m sorry, am I interrupting anything?”

Mike stood, “Not at all. I know you want to see each other before you depart.” Mike gave a respectful nod and excused himself.

The door shut and Danielle walked over to K’Temoc and they shared a loving kiss. “How are you feeling?”

“Good. It’s good to be out of Sick Bay and back on duty, even if it is light for another day.” K’Temoc replied with a smile. The two started to kiss again.
