Mission: Episode 94 - Return to Rashanar
Location: Starbase 400, Tactical Operations
Timeline: MD1 1035hrs, Following 'Return to Rashanar'

ON:

Once everyone had left the room, Mike took a seat beside T’Lar. “There’s another mission coming up that we’ve been assigned that I’ll need your help with.”

Deela nodded, "Of course. What is it?"

“I know you’ve read the Voyager reports from the Delta Quadrant.” It had been over fifteen years since Voyager returned from the Delta Quadrant, so the info might not be fresh in her mind, but being part Vulcan he knew Deela would recall it rather quickly. “Starfleet wants to head back to the Delta Quadrant. It’s been a long time coming, but with more and more ships equipped with slipstream drives it’s making the trip a lot easier.”

He was right. As soon as he spoke of it, she remembered every detail, "That is true. Why do they want us to head back there?"

“Starfleet received a request for help from the Talaxian Coloney that Voyager came across just before returning to Earth, the same one they left the Talaxian Neelix at. The Talaxians says some of their equipment is failing and they don’t have a means to make repairs. To make matters worse they also said they’ve been raided by some local scavengers. Starfleet plans to send three ships with aid and supplies. Food, replicators, spare parts, even a few shield generators. Starfleet Command is working on a more permanent presence in the Delta Quadrant and they’re working out a plan with the Klingons and Cardassians for joint exploration, however the Federation still isn’t willing to share slipstream technology, so the mission is on hold. For now, they want us to send three ships with some supplies and aid for the Talaxians, re-establish face to face contact, and help them get their feet back on the ground.”

Deela nodded again, "I see. Simple enough. Which ships were you thinking of sending? I am assuming that the Essex is one of them."

“We’re not set to launch for another few weeks, but I plan to send the Pegasus…she should be ready by then…as well as the Essex and the Lexington. We’ll stuff all three ships with anything we can send them. I’ll have Commander Stark’s R&D team on the Lexington as well as Commander Solomon and an Engineering team. We’ll take Major Maxwell and some of his fighters to sweep that asteroid field too. We’ll deploy sensor arrays and defensive satellites for them as well. We’ll need a Medical team as well. I want you to start mission planning, oversee getting the ships loaded, and so forth.”

Deela was already making a list in her head as he spoke, "Not a problem. Thanks for the heads up. I will get on it ASAP." She shifted her position slightly, "Anything else"

"Not at the moment." Mike replied. "We have enough going on with the Klingons still fighting, this Rashanar mission, and now prepping to go to the Delta Quadrant." Mike flashed a smile. "Thanks."

They both headed back to Ops.
