Mission: Episode 93 - Warrior VS Warrior
Location: Starbase 400/USS Pegasus
Timeline: MD4 1030hrs

ON:

After leaving his quarters, Mike made his way to his ship, the Pegasus. As he walked down the access way he looked over the ship. The new saucer was attached to the stardrive. She was still missing her nacelles, but most of the hull work was completed but there was still a lot to do internally.

Mike made his way to the Main Bridge, which was a total mess. Consoles were being installed, the doors to the Battle Bridge turbolift hadn't been installed yet, neither had the doors to his Ready Room. Yard Engineers were working around the clock to get the work done.

One of them handed Mike a PADD which listed the work to be done on the Saucer still, as well as the repairs still ongoing on the Stardrive. It would be weeks, if not months before the ship would be ready for space.

Mike then made his way to Main Engineering. Work was ongoing there too. A new MSD was being installed and several burned out displays and consoles were being swapped out while other work was ongoing.

Mike saw the people he'd come to meet standing in the Chief Engineer's Office. Stark was sitting in a chair looking over a diagnostic with Wayne standing to his right, with Sullivan and Solomon to his left.

"Gentlemen, what's the word?" Mike asked.

Wayne cut his eyes at the Admiral for a moment. "She still has a lot of work to be done. It might have been best to scrap her in favor of a new ship."

Mike didn't like that reply.

"Well, I don't think I'd go that far." Stark replied. "Sure she's old and been around the block a few times, but the old girl still has life in her and these upgrades we've included will help her do her thing again."

Jack looked up from the PADD he was working on. "To be honest, Admiral, she looks a lot worse than she actually is. With the Yard Engineers working around the clock as they have been along with the various Engineering and Ops teams we can spare, we're making good progress," he explained before pulling up a schematic of the ship on the wall monitor.

"There are several areas that are a priority right now, but we have life support in place around the ship and several key areas are up and running. Lt Sullivan and I finished the upgrades to the Battle Bridge this morning whilst there is a team working on completing the details there...such as fitting doors for the other turbolift..." He said, pointing out various parts of the starship.

Right on cue Sullivan picked up where Commander Solomon left off.

"I have an EVA team working on the outer hull doing some spot welding. We have been promised priority when it comes to parts and manpower from the shipyard but there may be a silver lining when it comes to that." He consulted his PADD again. "However I do have a bit of news which may brighten your day Admiral." He looked at the Admiral and grinned. "A transport docked this morning. One of the items in its hold is a new Type XX Phaser Emitter. I expect the outer hull welding to be done in a few hours. Once that is complete I will have the EVA team immediately begin installing the new cannon".

Mike smirked, it was good news indeed. "Very good."

Mike then looked at a PADD he had carried. "Most of the Romulan ships we'd helped will be departing for Vaun'gan II later today and their drydocks there will finish any repairs they might need. I want the yard personnel that had been assisting them to be assigned to the Tiriptz and Sutherland when they arrive. I also want some upgrades on the Tiriptz. Her power distribution systems need to be modernized, I want her Class 7 bubble shielding system upgraded to Class 8, and see if we can boost her phaser output by at least five percent."

Wayne wasn't really happy with the requests. "She's an old ship Admiral. Modernizing her power distribution will take time, especially if we're going to boost shield and phaser power."

"She's a Marine vessel, so we can remove some of her dead weight, install an additional fusion reactor to provide the extra power once we clean up her distribution systems." Stark replied.

Mike glanced at Sullivan. "I think this is a task for our new Refit and Repair Specialist." Mike then looked over at Solomon. "Commander, have Mister Blackthorn oversee the repairs to the Sutherland and get with the Cairo's Chief Engineer about what help they'll need with their repairs.

Sullivan nodded. "I can handle that Admiral. I know the Excelsior class very well. They are very upgradable. There is a hydroponics lab in the stardrive section two decks down from Main Engineering. I think we can convert that to hold the additional fusion reactor." He consulted his PADD and pulled up a schematic of the stardrive section and the hydroponics lab. He faced the PADD so the Admiral could see it. "We can install a few extra EPS conduits to handle the extra power flow". Sullivan stood up and began pacing back and forth in the room deep in thought. "Upgrading the shields and the power distribution systems will take a little more time though". He resumed his pacing, his mind working overtime. "We can route power from the deflector shield and use it to boost our shield output. We will have to install an overflow buffer though to handle the extra load." He traced some schematics on his PADD. "Yes, that should work. I will have a final plan in place in a few hours".

Jack nodded as the Admiral gave out his orders about the required repairs done to the Sutherland and getting a meeting setup with the Cairo's Chief Engineer to see what assistance they needed. He could see another busy time ahead with the Pegasus refit included, but he was glad of keeping busy.

"Aye sir, I'll contact the Chief Engineer on the Cairo and prepare to work some more miracles... I've got plenty in reserve at the moment," Jack confirmed.

"Very good. Any other questions?" Mike asked of the men gathered.

Sullivan waited until all the others spoke and finally spoke up. "No sir. I will be waiting when the Tirpitz arrives and get started on the upgrades immediately".

Mike gave a respectful nod. "All right, dismissed."
