Episode 92 - More Questions than Answers
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: MD4 - 1830h
Colonel Leah had arrived at Starbase 400 from her long ride from Kovar III, she had decided she wanted to resign from Starfleet and decided that she didn't want to live on Kovar III and just wanted to live in space on a Starbase. She decided Starbase 400 would be a good place to live.
She walked to ops to the Executive Officer's office. She rang the chime and waited for the response. She heard that Admiral Bremer was busy so she decided to talked to the Executive Officer.
"Enter." Deela looked up from the computer screen and waited for the door to open.
Leah walked in, Admiral T'Lar?" She asked hoping she was in the right spot.
Deela stood up, "Yes, you are in the right spot. How may I help you?"
"Good, this Starbase can get confusing and someone can get lost." She said as she chuckled a bit. "But, anyways I am Colonel Katana Leah former Commanding Officer of Camp Kovar on Kovar III. I am now retired and decided I didn't want to live on a planet anymore so thought I see if I can call this home." She said looking at her, "I also know General Hurd, were good friends so I figured at least I will know someone." She said looking at her with a smile. The Bajoran/Vulcan hybrid said looking at her.
Deela motioned to her, "Have a seat." She waited for her to sit, "So you know General Hurd. How long have you known her and does she know you are here?
"She was my Executive Officer of the USS Cairo once upon a time before I resigned years ago when it was just the USS Cairo-A. She didn't immediately get Command after I left, but after the previous CO after me was killed trying to save the USS Cairo-B." She said looking at her, "And no she doesn't kinda wanted to surprise her." Leah added with a smile.
"I think that she will be happy to see you. She is kind of having a rough patch right now and a familiar face should do her good." Deela was concerned for her friend.
"Sorry she's going through whatever it is, I am sure I can cheer her up." she said as she looked at her.
"Good." Deela leaned back in her seat, "So what made you decide to retire?"
"Don't get me wrong I loved being a Marine but, felt my heart wasn't in it anymore and needed to move on. Maybe enjoy life more then always working." She said looking at her.
"I see." Deela got up, "Would you like something to drink?" She walked over to the replicator and got herself a drink.
"Sure, I'll just take an Earl Gray tea hot." She said with a smile.
Deela got her drink and sat back down, "There shouldn't be a problem with you staying here. Do you have any plans once you settle in?"
"Not sure yet, thought I just enjoy it for awhile before deciding what to actually do." She said as she smiled at her.
"Okay." Deela made her decision, "I will tell you what. I will put your request through and get it approved. Meanwhile, I will assign you to your temporary quarters and you can go surprise Jewel. Once it is approved, then we will talk about permanent quarters."
"Sounds good," she said with a smile.
Deela smiled, "Perfect. Is there anything else you need?"
"Nope that will be it," she said as she got up and shook the Admiral's hand. "Thanks." She added before she headed out and had her things brought to her temporary quarters where she would settle in before going to see Jewel.
