Holly was on the bridge like she had been when the Captain left for his meeting. It was no surprise that when he came back there wasn't much talking between them. It seemed he ran more on the undertones and body language then on the talking. Helm was being manned so it was no surprise that she got a nudge on the shoulder to indicate that there was a message not only for the Captain but also for her as well. With the Captain off the bridge and in his ready room she was able to switch her monitors from the ship to the message without disruption of any ship functions.
Turning the message on she braced for what the Admiral had to say to her. Granted she only met him once on a formal occasion but still normally messages with your name on it from someone who was often referred to as a desk jockey normally meant something was going down and this message wasn't an exception to that. As it read:
`1900 hours, my personal residence. You are all invited to a cookout. This event will be informal and not required. However, you just might have a good time swimming, boating, eating, and getting to know your fellow crew members. You're welcome to bring any family or friends that you wish. Hope to see you tonight.`
Just about when she got through with the message she heard the Captain speak to someone on the bridge about going down to Earth and knew almost on instinct alone that they both were going to the same place for the same reason. The helm officer gave her a look as the Captain spoke to someone in back of them before leaving the bridge. When he left that was when she spoke to helm.
"Looks like we are all going on leave for a bit and if you need me find the Captain. Enjoy yourself I'll try to do the same." Smiling at him she then kissed him on the forehead and left the bridge. The same way she use to when they were in training together on the same assignment she looked after him like a brother and it was good to serve with him again.

Taking the turbo to her quarters was easy and this was shocking to her because normally it took her a good month or two of service on a ship before she was running around on it like it was home, but for some reason this ship was different for her. Perhaps it was the time off of service that did it to her but she seemed to be more focused, and driven almost as if she were feeding off the energy of the people around her. She knew though in her mind that wasn't what she was doing for she wasn't using any of her natural telepathic tendencies while on the ship. The only time she ever used them around non-telepaths was when ordered to do so by the Captain of the ship.
However, there was a smile on her face when she entered the security code of her quarters and found the door on the first shot. Gathering her thoughts so they weren't going faster than her hands she used her training as a marine to focus on putting herself together in a lady like fashion. She had heard of the concept of a cookout before but never attended one. She never had a human for a Captain before nor as a commanding officer for that matter. Ever since her academy days past the instructors she never really worked under a human for one reason or another. She was looking forward to getting to know quite a few of them with the cookout. Almost giggling out loud she, very uncharacteristically went about being a women for a change and taking her time with the outfit. Being as most of her family and friends were light years away she felt it prudent to just go on her own.
That is when the memories of when she was last dressed down for a gathering amongst crewmates hit her like a wave. She had to pause in her searching through her closet and smile. Sure enough the peace that gave her that smile was in her hand at the moment so she ran her fingers along the fabric for a while almost tearing up at the thought of the gathering. Shaking the memory she moved onto something more appropriate for an outdoor outing instead of a semi-formal gathering. Finding a brightly colored but very light weight blouse she paired it with similarly colored form fitting pants. The fabric of the blouse hung around her like it was just draped on her in contrast to the pants that clung to her like they were almost painted on. Satisfied that she would be very comfortable in the wear she put under it her bathing suet prepared for water if necessary even though she wouldn't necessarily gravitate towards it on her own accord.
Packing a bag full of towels and other things that she might need (this included a med kit) she took one last look at the loose hair style she went with. It looked like a mess but one that was planned smiling just a bit she then hefted the bag onto her shoulder and headed to the transporter room to transport down to Earth. The coordinates had been in the message and she was sure that they would have them already in the room as she wasn't the only one heading there, so she didn't bother to take a padd with the message on it with her as she left her quarters.

Having her big sunglasses on the transporter chief took a look at her before smiling he knew what she was up to. Despite herself she had a bit of a swing in her step and went over to the chief to see if the coordinates were in the panel already. Sure enough they were and she pointed to them before asking to be beamed down there. A nod was given and she was up on the pad in a matter of minutes with the transport happing not too far behind it.

Transporting always left her momentarily disoriented when she landed wherever she was. This wasn't any exception and she happened to find herself not too far off from where Captain Greenwood was it seemed from afar he was taking in his soundings just like she was. Walking up to him as if they were still on the ship together she spoke to him making sure to make plenty of noise on her approach. She didn't want to frighten him.
"Fancy meeting you here I believe would be the appropriate expression. Sounds like the Admiral has quite a day planed out for us all. This is my first time on this type of Earth setting...first time on here since I graduated from the academy. Hope you are more familiar with this... I might have to follow your lead as to how to behave." She then smiled at him looking out onto the residency much like he was doing hoping he would be receptive.
