Mission: Episode 92 - More Questions than Answers
Location: Chief Diplomatic Officer's Office
Timeline: MD1, 1600 hrs

With the planning for two Marine Expeditionary Forces, there would come a need to at least train their operations, and the Kaleb III Marine Training Depot would not be large enough. This is where Jackson's lack of diplomatic skills forced him to seek help. He almost got lost in this part of the station as he looked for General Hurd's Office. He finally found it, and was more than happy for press the door chime, and waiting for the reward from his search effort...

Jewel was talking with T'Lyn when the door chimed, "Enter." Jewel replied as the doors opened and their stood General Jackson. T'Lyn stood at attention to her superior officer. "Come in, how can I help you?" She said looking at him as she stood up.

Jackson came in, and was pleasantly surprised to see one of his regimental commanders in the office. He nodded to T'Lyn, and stood at attention in front of Jewel's desk. "General, do you have a minute?"

"Um, I'll leave you two alone." T'Lyn said as she looked at both Jewel and Jackson.

"Sure," Jewel replied as she looked at Jackson.

"Oh, you don't have to leave, this kind of involves you anyway,"Jackson said to the Major.

She looked nervous all of a sudden, "Alright." T'Lyn stated as she stood their.

"So what's on your mind General, oh please have a seat would you like something to drink?" She asked looking at him.

Jax sat down, "No thank you on the drink. Fleet has just given me four transport ships that are capable of carrying a battalion a piece. So if I split them so that two accompany one of the two marine star ships, I can move a brigade sized element with each group of ships. Plus an accompanying carrier would give each expeditionary unit fighter support. Now my problem is this, they need to practice their disembarkation and exit routines, and the Kaleb III Marine Training Depot is a little small to practice landing a 4000 plus marine task force. However, there is marine training ground on the Kaleb IV Colony. I am just not sure how their Governor would feel about a brigade dropping on and off of his planet, regardless of our training area."

"That is a problem, maybe I can contact the governor and see if it be alright temporarily?" Jewel asked looking at him, "how long would you be doing this? I am sure that's one of the questions he will ask." Jewel replied as she seen T'Lyn kinda nervous.

"It would take some time to outline a procedure, run holo simulations with the ships' flight crews, and key officers, and to calm the minds of colony management, one live run per MEU.", Replied Jax, who was eyeing T'Lyn the whole time, noticing her nervousness.

"It will take me some time, how soon do you need an answer?" Jewel asked as she to notice T'Lyn but didn't say anything.

Jackson just smiled, "Well, I don't expect to have it done this, or next week. I think it would take time to work out how to dump almost a quarter of a division on a planet at the same time, with a new system. I don't want to rush unless it is an emergency." He looked at T'Lyn. "Major, since one of your battalions would be in the first MEU, wouldn't you agree?"

"I can't make any promises but I'll see what I can do." Jewel replied as she took notes. "Yes sir." T'Lyn stated looking at him but not trying to look him in the eyes. She didn't want him to see she was attracted to him as it be unprofessional, but he somehow caught her off guard.

Jackson was picking up something from T'Lyn. If she was human, he swears that... "Thank you General." Then he turned to T'Lyn, "Plans tonight Major?"

Jewel nodded and couldn't help but smile, T'Lyn was really caught of guard. "Um...." She gulped, "No sir." She said trying to stay in control but was failing miserably.

For a few seconds, Jax almost forgot that T'Lyn was a Vulcan. The awkwardness was intriguing. He could not let this slide. "Well, how about dinner tonight?"

She felt a little flushed in the cheaks, Jewel just quietly smiled in the background as she did her own thing. "Sure," T'Lyn stated as she looked him in the eyes.

Jax noticed the 'Sure' come out of T'Lyn's mouth. Not a 'Yes Sir', nor "affirmative', nor 'Understood'. "Excellent. One condition, I won't wear a uniform if you don't."

"Alright" T'Lyn stated as she looked at Jewel for a moment as she had no idea what she was suppose to wear. "Don't worry she'll be ready." Jewel replied.

"What time and location...um...General?" T'Lyn asked.

Jackson now had a thought. He was now wondering if Vulcan women took a millennium to decide where they wanted to eat, just like Human women. He decided to take that out of the equation. "Promenade Deck, that Vulcan place, for the life of me, I cannot pronounce it, 1900 hrs."

"Very well, I'll be ready and see you there." T'Lyn stated as she looked at him for a moment wondering if this was all just a weird dream.

After Jax exited the office, he stopped for a minute, "What just happened?" Then he just kept on walking.
