Mission: Episode 92 - More Questions than Answers
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: MD1 1000hrs, Following 'Returning Home'

ON:

K’Temoc had left Ops about the same time Bremer and Dow had, and headed for his Office. The Special Operations Team hadn’t had a real assignment in some time now and he thought it would be a good idea to get the team together for a meeting. Besides, the team was also down a few members because of crew transfers. With Pike still recovering, K’Temoc made it a point to meet with Captain Harrison later in the day to look over the roster and pick a few people. Lokran, Solomon, Ramata’tar all came to mind for their skills and abilities, but with some new crewmembers aboard Starbase 400, he wanted to make sure they looked over everyone. While the SOP was technically a five member team, he wanted to make sure they had people in place for any contingency.

Entering his Office, K’Temoc saw a message from General Hurd asking to meet with him regarding their new positions are Task Force Ninety-Nine’s CO and XO. K’Temoc smirked and sent a quick message to Harrison to meet with him later in the day then headed for the Diplomatic Suite.

A few minutes later, K’Temoc tapped the door chime to Hurd’s Office.

Jewel was sitting in the office going over reports when she heard the door chime and already knew who it was. "Come in Admiral," She said as the doors opened with a smile. "Please have a seat," she added looking at him. "Oh would you like something to drink?" she asked looking at him.

"No, thank you." K'Temoc replied as he took a seat. "Congratulations on your promotion."

"Thank you, and Congratulations on yours as well, wonder if Admiral Tidwell knew what he was doing when he picked us to be the Task Force Senior Staff." She said as she chuckled a bit as she never thought she would even be in the position.

"So, here is a list I received from Tidwell, this is a list of the ships that are assigned to Task Force 99." She stated as she handed him the PADD.

K'Temoc looked over the PADD. Of course he knew the New Hampshire, Cairo, and Tigris, as well as a few others. "We have a really good group here, a lot of experience." He deactivated the PADD, "What are your plans?"

She thought for a moment, "I going to be in contact with the Commanding Officer's, get status reports from them see what's going on with them as well as letting them know that we are available if needed." She stated looking at him.

"Since Starbase 400 is the main flag base for Task Force 99 as well as the area we need to be able to know where the ships are and be able to dispatch them when a situation arises that we need a ship in the area to respond." She added taking a sip of her tea.

"If that means the Sutherland and Yorktown as well if all other ships are busy." She stated, "We need to set an example as well letting them know that we will help where is needed." Jewel stated looking at K'Temoc, "Do you have any ideas?" She finally asked.

"Well, we've been doing that with the Cairo and New Hampshire for a while, and the USS Tigris was assigned to the Ares Operational Theater already, so adding more shouldn't be an issue. I'll ask Commander Solomon to get us dedicated sensor and communication arrays, as well as a secured micro-core." K'Temoc replied. "I think right now communication is key, anytime there's a command change there's concern."

"Indeed, not only is their a Commanding Officer change there is also the Executive Officer as well so we both are new to this position so things have changed majorly in regards to Task Force Command Staff." She stated looking at him.

"That would be a good idea with the sensor and communication arrays that would make things a little easier for us." She stated looking at him, "Any other ideas?" She asked.

"Find out their expectations of us, as well as advise them of ours. I'll look over each ship's recent reports and logs, as well as the Starfleet Records of their CO's and key personnel." K'Temoc replied.

"Good, I want a full report when your done," she said with a smile. "If you need any help let me know. We are here to work as a team so I am here to help if you need anything." Jewel replied with a smile, this be a first time that she be working closely with K'Temoc then here whole career on Starbase 400 other then in passing and on very limited times with missions.

K'Temoc nodded. "Yes ma'am." He stood to leave, then paused and looked back. "Did everything work out with the issue you told me about a few weeks ago?"

"Yes, it was resolved rather quickly they found it to be just self defense and dropped it. Everything good on that front," Jewel replied with a smile.

K'Temoc gave a respectful nod, "Good."

He left Hurd's Office and headed down to R&D. Entering the turbolift, K'Temoc saw his girlfriend, Danielle, waiting for him. She steeped to him, giving him a kiss and a warm hug.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"I am. I'm sorry I didn't come see you when I got back." He replied.

"It's okay, I understand. Do you have some free time?" She asked.

"I have to take something to Stark, but after that I am for a bit." He replied.

A few minutes later they arrived on the R&D level and went to Stark's office.

"Commander, the Admiral wanted me to give you this." K'Temoc handed him PADD.

Stark looked it over, "This modification to the Pegasus-B we can do. We'll work something up and get it to Solomon. But, this, is he sure?"

"He is." K'Temoc replied confidently.

"All right, we'll do what we can. Does he have a date he wants that near miracle by?" Stark replied.

"Just as soon as possible." K'Temoc replied.

Stark nodded then showed the PADD to Wayne who grunted before they went to advise their staff and got to work.

K'Temoc and Cole headed to the Promenade to get something to eat.
