Mission: Episode 92 - More Questions than Answers
Location: Starbase 400, T'Lar's Office
Timeline: Right after 'Returning Home'

As soon as Alex heard that the Pegasus was back, she ran to Deela's office as fast as she could. She didn't push the chime or wait to be given permission to enter, she just ran inside.

Out of breath, she put her hands on Deela's desk, "Is it true? Are they back?"

Deela was shocked, "Well hello to you too." Deela motioned her to sit, "Yes, they are. Lee was injured and is in Sickbay as we speak. He'll be fine, I promise."

"Injured? How? Who?" Alex spoke with exasperation.

"They weren't on patrol. They were helping Bremer prove his innocence. They came in contact with their mirror counterparts and that is how Lee got hurt. You should go see him.

"What happened to his counterpart? Is he dead?"

"Alex! Go talk to Lee. I am sure that he will tell you everything." Deela tried to assure her.

"I hope Lee killed him." Just the thought of someone hurting her husband perturbed her. "I don't know who I am more mad at. Lee for getting himself almost killed or his counterpart for hurting him."

Deela knew that she wouldn't be satisfied with a brush off, "Bremer's counterpart is nicely tucked into a cell and Lee's as well. Now go be with your husband. I am sure that he would be glad to see you."

"You're right. Sorry for barging in like that. It wasn't proper. It's just that I have been so worried."

Deela waved her hand, "I do understand. Now go. They should be finished with him."

Alex walked out and went on her way to see Lee. But her curiosity got the best of her. She found herself standing nor far from where the mirror Bremer and Pike were being held.

She still had a high security level so it was very easy for her to get in there to get a glimpse of the mirror Lee. She proceeded in and stood in front of one of the security guards. The security guard recognized her, "Captain Harrison? I wasn't informed that you were coming. Ma'am, what are you doing here?"

"I'm just checking up on our prisoners, making sure that they are secured in their cells. After all, we can't be too careful, can we?"

"Yes ma'am. Everything was given a once over and their cells are secured. They're not going anywhere." The Lieutenant observed her looking at the mirror Lee, "Doesn't this whole thing weird you out? Just the thought of another me in another universe. I could be a some psycho serial killer."

She thought about the same thing, "It makes me wonder if there is also one of me where he comes from." She found herself staring at the mirror Pike.

The mirror Lee was laying on his bunk when he heard the security officer talking to someone, hearing a familiar name he laid there listening to the conversation between the two "I raped and killed her." He sat up then turned his head to look at her "Yes you heard that right...there was a mirror Alex Harrison but I found her then I raped her then killed her and her husband Ruben."

Alex felt her stomach drop. At first, she stood there glaring at him, growing angrier by the second. She wanted to go into that cell and strangle him but instead, she approached his cell, "And you're proud of that?! Did it make you feel like more of a man?! Well, you're not a man! You're a monster and you disgust me! The site of you makes me sick!" She turned and began to walk away.

The mirror Lee just stood there watching her then when she got closer to the cell, he gave her a big grin "Actually I am quite proud of what I did, I took great pleasure in what I did." He then busted out laughing when she called him a monster, a big hearty evil laugh. He stopped as she turned to leave "Oh but don't worry I let her son Paul live....I sold him to the Orion Syndicate for quite a few credits." The mirror Lee shrugs "I mean it was easy since I was already a member of the Syndicate anyway."

Alex stopped, her back still towards him. He made Alex's skin crawl. She had to muster up the strength to keep from killing him. "Too bad you won't get to use those credits because you are going to rot here." With that, she walked out and made her way to Sickbay. As she walked, tears ran down her face as she thought about the mirror Paul and the hell he must be in. Before stepping into Sickbay, she composed herself and went in. She glanced around for Lee, not knowing what to expect.

Lee was sitting on a bed as a nurse checked on his bandages. He felt her enter sickbay, turning his head he looked in her direction "Imzadi".

Alex's face was drained of color which was unusual even for her. Maybe it was being pregnant that she was affected more than usual but never less, she would never get over this.

When she came over he looked at her putting his arms around her "Why did you go see him for?"

Alex sighed, "I don't know why. I guess I was curious." She hugged him, making sure that she didn't hurt him. She continued to hug him as she spoke out of the nurse's hearing but the hatred she had for the mirror Pike could be heard in the tone of her voice, "He was horrible. If we weren't separated by a forcefield, I would have killed him." She didn't realize how much he had affected her until she couldn't stop trembling.

Lee kept hold of her tightly not moving then he let out a sigh "No you wouldn't have. He would have killed you."

She pulled back a bit, "Maybe."

He looked deep into her eyes "Imzadi, I don't doubt your skills as a fighter and all but this man is brutal and he has nothing to lose and he knows way too many different martial arts. I had a very hard time myself beating him."

"I can see that. All I would need is a phaser set to kill and incinerate him." She closed her eyes for a moment, "I know, I'm not a killer but in this case, I'd make an exception." She sighed, knowing that she would never be allowed to kill him.

Lee gave a small chuckle "Like Admiral Bremer would allow that...nor would I allow it."

Alex let the subject die, "So, how are you doing and how bad is it?" The question was aimed at both Lee and the nurse.

The nurse looked at Lee then Alex then at her medical tricorder "Captain Pike has suffered several lacerations, three broken ribs and a concussion. He is otherwise fine and should be released within 24 hours."

"24 hours, okay." She still felt angry but now the mirror Pike wasn't her focus, "I guess it could have been worse...you could of been 'dead'." She emphasized the word dead. "I mean, we have a baby on the way and if something happened to you..." Her voice trailed off.

The nurse looked at them both almost sorry like and spoke up again "Actually Captain while you was here and knowing that you are pregnant I took a quick scan to make sure you are ok. You and the babies seem to be doing fine."

"Now but if..." Alex, realized at that moment that the nurse had either made an error or she meant more than one, "Babies? As in two? Are you sure?"

Alex at this point felt like she was going to pass out at the thought of two babies.

The nurse nodded handed the tricorder over to Alex "Yes Captain, you two are going to be having twins."

Alex looked at the evidence before her. She was still in shock.

Lee sat there stunned for a second "Could you give us a minute." The nurse nodded then turned and left. He just sat there then looked at Alex "Twins wow..."

"Well, that was unexpected." She put the tricorder down, "I guess I'd better make that appointment with Dr. Thr'elanon soon." She had turned him down earlier.

Lee nodded "Yes you probably should set up regular appointments with the doctor."

=/\= Lieutenant Quan to Captain Harrison, you are needed on the Steadfast." Alex sighed, "On my way." Alex frowned at Lee, "I'd better be going. I'll come and check on you later.

Lee raised an eyebrow "Why are you needed on the Steadfast for?"

Alex explained, "Deela had engineering inspecting some of the ships and making sure that they are in proper working order. And since I'm assigned to the Steadfast, maybe they found something."

Alex hugged him, "Twins, who would of thought."

Lee hugged her back "Twice the miracle Imazdi."

"Yes, it is." She kissed him, "Get some rest and I'll see you later. Love ya."

Lee kissed her back "Ok you be careful out there. Love you too." He sat there watching her leave then turned around and laid down on the bio bed.
