Mission:
Episode 91 - Bremer vs Bremer
Location: USS Pegasus, Bridge
Timeline: MD2 0425hrs, Concurrent with 'Base Raid'
ON:
Once clear of the asteroid belt, the Pegasus made a quick slipstream jump and arrived close to the battle site where the Ronin class USS Hattori was firing on a crippled Cardassian Galor class ship.
"Ease us in Chief." Mike said, standing.
On the screen the Hattori moved in and fired phasers on the drifting Cardassian ship.
"I'm picking up sixty life signs aboard the Cardassian ship." K'Temoc added.
Mike took a deep breath then tapped the 1MC button on his panel. "All hands, battle stations."
Mike waited a moment, then stated to give orders. "Chief, take us in, move us between the Hattori and the Cardassians. Lokran, drop the cloak and raise shields and provide covering fire. Croesus boost our shields facing the Hattori. Pike, beam the Cardassians directly to sick bay and have Security stationed there as well. Solomon, we're going to need whatever power you can spare, and ready damage control teams."
"Moving us into position Admiral." Branson replied.
"Cloak down and shields rraised." said R'nard.
Lee nodded turning back around, his hands flew over the controls, first sending a security team down to sick bay then beaming the Cardassians from their ship over directly to sickbay.
Jack nodded as he heard the orders from the Admiral being given out. "Aye sir," he answered as he began redirecting power to the critical systems as the ship was prepared for combat. He also had Auxiliary power on standby just in case the Pegasus began taking a serious pounding in battle. Finally Jack sent orders to Engineering to have Damage Control teams ready.
Mike then tapped the communications button, "USS Hattori, this is Fleet Admiral Bremer aboard the USS Pegasus. You're ordered to break off your attack, lower your shields, and prepare to be boarded."
Instead of a voice reply, the Pegasus shook from a photon torpedo hit. After a moment, the screen flashed, and Mike looked to be looking into a mirror...only the man on the screen had a scar on his right cheek.
R'nard looked on in shock. Not only that Bremer's mirror double was there, but at the tactical station behind, was...himself. But with a notch in his left ear and an earring in his right. A ferocity that was unlike his own was in his double's eyes. Something made sense now.
Lee turned back around from his console to the main viewscreen and saw himself on the other ship, only with longer hair a full beard and a few scars along the side of his face, Lee could sense that the other Lee was very evil.
Jack braced himself against the Engineering Station as the torpedo struck the starship and checked the shields status. He was about to report on their status when he heard the viewscreen ping and he looked up to see the image of the bridge crew before them.
Jack could see the opposites of Bremer, Lokran and Pike and then he spotted his opposite self standing at a bridge station. He seemed to have a torn waistcoat uniform on and his left eye was missing with a scar that began above his eyebrow and ended on his cheek. He seemed battle scarred but there was something about him that put Jack on edge.
The mirror R'nard took out a knife and played with the edge when he saw his counterpart. A mirthless grin spread across his face. "A weakling. Sirr, I would like to skin this weakling alive like I did Master Broo. See how long it will take for him to die."
R'nard heard his counterpart, and hid his feelings. He looked like somebody you wouldn't want to play poker with.
Mike gave a glance to K'Temoc who quickly muted the channel. Mike then looked over at Cobb. "How the hell did these other Mirror Universe people get here?"
Cobb took a breath. "I...I don't know, really. I do know that there was more and more contact with the Mirror Universe prior to and during the Dominion War, centered around DS9, but you knew that because that's when your duplicate arrived. Some might have been here since then, others more recently. I know Admiral Mendek had the ability to send your duplicate back, maybe he brought the others here to add to ruse in framing you."
K'Temoc stood up and spoke quietly to Mike, "Kind of makes sense. If he's going to frame you, he might as well make it look real." K'Temoc looked back at the screen with a glare. He know he wouldn't see a duplicate of himself, the Mirror Bremer killed the Mirror K'Temoc a year before he crossed over to this universe. "Also, sensors show they don't have a full crew, I'm only seeing fifty-two people aboard."
The aft turbolift doors opened and a Cardassian Gul and Legete entered the Bridge along with two Security Officers. The Cardassians looked at the screen, then at the real Bremer standing in the middle of the Pegasus bridge. They took a double take, trying to process what they were seeing.
Mike looked back, "Welcome aboard the Pegasus. It seems you've been caught in the middle of possible Mirror Universe plot to stop the Federation/Klingon/Cardassian Alliance negotiations." He lied, and he wasn't happy about it, but Mike also didn't want to mention the possible Section 31 plot or the fact a Starfleet Admiral was behind everything.
The Cardassians looked at each other for a moment. The Legate finally spoke, "We thank you for your assistance, what can my remaining crew do to help?"
Mike smirked, "First, let our Medical teams make sure they're okay."
Mike looked over at Stark and Wayne back at Science One and Two. "Get into their systems, I want everything. Communications, sensor logs, where that ship's been, who's been aboard."
Both R&D Officers nodded and got to work.
Mike then looked back at the screen and nodded for the channel to be reopened. "Why did you attack the Cardassians?"
The Mirror Bremer smirked. "I don't answer to you, and I don't need a reason to attack anyone."
"Someone is pulling your strings, you're not smart enough to pull this off by yourself." Mike replied, trying to get under his Mirror's skin.
The Mirror glared and growled, "My ship is superior, newer that veQ you call a ship. I've waited years for this, to get my revenge on you."
Mike smirked, "That's what you said last time, and you ended up with that beauty mark on your cheek and you sitting in the brig. Mendek is playing you, getting you to do his dirty work for him and in the end he'll eliminate you too."
"Mendek is a fool, I'm using him to get my revenge on you and once I do there's nothing he can do to stop us! He's as much of a fool as you." The Mirror Bremer replied.
"I guess some things never change. Your ignorance, and me being there when you fail." Mike replied.
The Mirror Bremer closed the comm channel as the Hattori started moving forward.
"Admiral, we've got everything." Stark called out from Science One.
"What do we do?" K'Temoc asked.
"We fight." Mike replied. "Chief, take us in. Lokran, target their weapons and warp engines, fire when ready."
R'nard gave a sigh of relief when the comm channel was closed. How could a fellow Tralazar be so evil? And Master Broo had died peacefully after he left the world to join Starfleet.
"Aye, sirr, with pleasure." he said. He did target their weapons and warp engines and began firing.
The Pegasus's phasers fired on the Hattori, hitting the forward shields.
"Chief, full impulse, get us passed her as quickly as possible. All of her heavy weapons are forward facing, so we need to get behind and below here to stay out of their arches." Bremer ordered.
"That ship is more maneuverable than we are, but I'll do my best." Branson replied.
As the two ships moved forward toward each other like Knights of olde jousting, both ships fired phasers, torpedoes, and phaser cannons. The Pegasus took the brunt of it though. Quantum torpedoes from the Hattori's torpedo turret, as well as phaser hits from the Hattori's twin Type-XX phaser cannons and four Type-U pulse phasers tore into the Pegasus's forward shields. Her port nacelle took a direct hit from a torpedo and the navigational deflector took phaser hits.
The Pegasus got her licks in too though, knocking out one of the Hattori's pulse phaser banks, weakened her forward shields, and damaged one of her sensor arrays too.
As the ships passed, the Pegasus turned hard to port to try and stay behind the Hattori while it's weapons targeted the Hattori's engines. The Hattori turned as well and was able to turn within the Pegasus's radius.
The Pegasus shook violently from more hits. Smoke and vapor filled the air on the Bridge.
"Jack, damage report?" K'Temoc called out.
Jack hammered the Engineering console as the ship shook from the blows dealt to it by the Hattori.
"Damage to the Secondary Hull near Main Engineering and to the Primary hull against our Impulse engines. I've re-routed Auxiliary power to compensate and assigned Damage repair teams, but we can't take a lot more of this Admiral. She's getting pounded!" Jack reported.
"Chief, defensive pattern Kirk-Gamma. Croesus, any extra power you can divert to the shields would be appreciated!" Bremer ordered.
A moment later another torpedo hit near the Bridge and threw the Bridge crew about like rag dolls.
K'Temoc pulled himself back up into his seat and checked his panel. "That was a Hellfire torpedo, it managed to get passed our shields!"
Mike pulled himself up as he yelled, "Stark, anything you can do to re-enforce the MLSS?" As he stood blood dripped down his face from a deep gash on his right cheek, which matched the one he'd given his Mirror Universe self many years ago.
"Working on it!" Stark replied.
With the impact from the Hellfire torpedo, Jack picked himself up and steadied himself against his station. Once his vision cleared, he checked the incoming data on this latest damage report. "Admiral, that Hellfire took out the Starboard Primary Shield Generator on the Saucer section! Auxiliary Generators have kicked in!" He reported back.
"Chief, full axis rotation to starboard, Lokran, target everything we have at their sensors, blind em!" Mike ordered.
"Will do, sirr, I will not let my counterpart beat me!" He focused the weaponry on the sensors and hit them hard.
Branson let out a grunt. "They're out turning us again." The Pegasus shook from another hit.
"That was our port nacelle." Wayne commented from Science Two.
"Jack, get damage control on it." Bremer ordered.
"Aye sir!" Jack answered as he slammed the Comm panel at his station. "Solomon to Quan, take a Damage Control team up to the Portside Warp Nacelle and lock down the particle flow matrix regulators before we lose containment and the entire nacelle!" He ordered.
Jack looked over to Bremer. "Admiral, we're getting hammered going toe to toe with the Hattori. We need to even the odds or we're not going to have a ship left," he explained.
The Hattori turned and fired her twin Type-XX Phaser cannons at the
Pegasus. The Pegasus was in the middle of a roll and both beams missed.
As the Pegasus tried to turn away the Hattori fired again, this time with
the twin Type-XX Phaser cannons in pulse mode. The first few missed because of their damaged sensors, but additional pulses of powerful phased energy slammed into the back of the Pegasus. One ripped through the shields and impacted the main shuttle bay, tearing the door off and exploding several of the shuttles housed in there. Another hit the center nacelle completely destroying it, leaving the damaged pylon burning. Another hit the port impulse engine of the Saucer Section and heavily damaged it. Others impacted against various places of the hull shaking the big ship.
On the Bridge, smoke and vapor filled the air.
“We’re losing impulse power!” Branson reported.
“Structural latching systems between the saucer and stardrive sections are
damaged.” Wayne reported. “We have hull breaches all along the aft section of the saucer." He looked over at Solomon who appeared to have his hands full too.
“I’ve been able to make modifications to the shields, but we’ll have to
drop them and recalibrate the emitters...we’ll be shieldless for about six
to ten seconds.” Stark reported.
“Solomon, how bad is the saucer section?” K’Temoc called up to Solomon.
Jack ran a quick systems check on his console based on all the information he had to hand. "Its doesn't make for great reading," he began. "The Saucer Section is running on Auxiliary shields after the Starboard Primary Shield Generator was taken out in the Hellfire volley and the Impulse Engines will give you half impulse at best, but you've got weapons and a chance to maneuver," Jack explained.
Mike sat silent for a few moments, then a plan came to mind. “Lee, start moving everyone, all personnel to the stardrive section.” Thankfully, the ship wasn’t operating with a full crew and no civilians were on board. “Lokran, keep hitting their sensors, especially their forward arrays. “Stark, Wayne, get to the Battle Bridge and get it online, take Cobb, the Gul, and the Legit with you. Whatever you need to do with the shield emitters Stark, be ready. K’Temoc, go with them.” Mike stood and looked around for a moment before continuing with his orders. “Croesus, give anything you can spare to the impulse engines. Branson set course 060 mark 010, full impulse and hold it. Once set, both of you get to the Battle Bridge. Jack, get to the Battle Bridge too. Once we separate the ship, I need two three second warp jumps. Be ready on my mark.”
Lee nodded "Aye sir" He stood up and headed off to move the personnel to the stardrive section.
Jack nodded and headed to the turbolift to get to the Stardrive's Battle Bridge.
“Lokran, get to the Battle Bridge too. Ready four photon torpedoes to be
released from the saucer section’s aft tubes to be released as mines. When
I give the word we’ll release them and as the Hattori nears them we’ll
detonate them with phasers. That should fully blind them while we separate
the saucer.” Bremer added.
"Underrstood." said R'nard. "I'll get them rready." He left for the Battle Bridge.
Once R’nard left, Mike was the last person on the Bridge of the Pegasus. It
was an odd feeling, one he’d experienced more times than he wanted. He’d
lost his first command, the Galaxy Class Pegasus, in combat. He’d lost the
Pegasus-A in combat protecting a Cardassian planet from a rogue Starfleet ship just after the Dominion War ended, and now he was losing at least part of his ship protecting the Cardassians again. What was even odder to the story was the fact this wasn’t even the original Pegasus-B saucer section...or her original stardrive section. Both of the originals had been destroyed in combat on separate occasions. Still, the fact remained he was losing at least part of his ship in battle again.
While waiting for word that everyone was moved to the Stardrive section, Mike took a seat at Ops. He reconfigured the panel a little to allow him to pilot the ship if needed while also firing the Saucer’s weapons. He fired several phaser blasts at the forward shields of the Hattori and followed them up with a few Hellfire torpedoes too. They were able to skip past the Hattori’s weakened shields and tore into forward saucer section, damaging a phaser array and opening a small breach in the hull near the Bridge. Mike was trying to keep his Mirror’s attention, get him mad.
Lee tapped his badge as he headed back to the bridge "Pike to the bridge, everyone has been transferred safely."
Solomon arrived shortly on the Battle Bridge and he began configuring the Warp Field to allow for the micro-jumps that Bremer wanted to use as well as preparing the anti-matter flow systems for two lots of extra power that they wouldn't be used to. Once he was finished, Jack looked over at K’Temoc.
"Stardrive is prepped for two Micro-Warp Jumps sir."
After a few moments Mike’s combadge beeped. “We’re ready.” K’Temoc said.
Mike tapped in a few commands, stood, then tapped his badge, “Have Lokran release the torpedoes and beam me down.”
A second later, Mike stood on the Battle Bridge. “Fire Lokran!”
R'nard had the torpedoes ready, and he fired on Mike's order.
The phaser beams hit the floating torpedoes as the Hottori neared them.
The explosion caused a photonic pulse that fully blinded their sensors and
caused Hattori to veer off slightly.
Mike continued with the orders, “Croesus , release clamps to the saucer. Chief, slow our speed just enough to let the Saucer get clear, alter our course two degrees on the Z-Axis, and take us to Warp for three seconds as soon as the saucer is clear, then set a course back here and be ready to engage at Warp again. Stark, that gives you ten seconds!"
Mike paused a second for everyone to type in their commands, then he took a breath and said, "Engage."
The Saucer Section of the Pegasus released and the Stardrive shot away in the blink of an eye. As the Hattori passed through the photonic shockwave their damaged sensors slowly started to clear and they saw the Pegasus...or what they thought was the whole ship. Firing torpedoes and phaser cannos they quickly destroyed the saucer section. As Bremer's Mirror and his comrades relaxed, the Stardrive Section of the Pegasus warped back into the area, close to the Hattori's aft quarter.
Mike gritted his teeth, "Fire!"
R'nard didn't have to be asked twice. He hit the Hatorri with everything he had.
"Our shields are reestablished and holding at sixty percent." Stark calmly advised.
"There shields are down on their port quarter." Wayne called out.
The Pegasus, now free of its saucer, could out maneuver the Hattori, turning the tables. "Take out their ability to get away Commander." Mike said to Lokran. "Lee, ready a boarding party."
"Aye sir." Lee tapped a button on his console "Security team Alpha and Beta report to transporter room one and two." He got up and then headed off to the lift to transporter room one.
After a moment there was a beep from Stark's panel. "Admiral, we've lost two EPS conduits that feed power to one of our shield generators, it's offline."
"Jack, get a team on it." Mike ordered.
Jack nodded as he slapped his comm panel immediately. "Solomon to Quan, get a Damage Control team over to deck twenty six and start working on getting the EPS Conduits online again. Solomon to Boone, begin re-routing power to get the shields back online as a priority!" He ordered.
"I'm picking up some strange energy patters coming from that ship. They're similar to transporter readings with a different phase variant." K'Temoc commented.
"Confirmed." Stark replied. "I've seen a patter like this before, it's the same readings Deep Space Nine detected when people from the Mirror Universe beamed aboard there."
"Some of their Mirror Universe crew are trying to return home." Mike commented. "Lokran, take out their transporters!"
Before Lokran could reply K'Temoc added, "Intruder alert! Multiple beam in sites. Decks Thirty-Six, Thirteen, Twenty-two!" K'Temoc tapped in a command on the console he was at and internal sensor displays appeared on the screen. The Mirror Lokran was on Deck Twenty-Two, the Mirror Pike on Deck Thirty-Six, and the Mirror Bremer on Deck Thirteen. Each had ten or so people with them.
"Intruder suppression systems were disabled during the battle." Stark reported.
"Admiral, there's only ten or so people left aboard the Hattori." Wayne reported.
Mike stood and walked over the small weapons locker. "Lokran, take a team with you to Deck Twenty-Two, Pike take one with you to Deck Thirty-Six, I'm going to Deck Thirteen. K'Temoc you have the Bridge, finish disabling the Hattori.
Legit Dugal spoke up from the back of the Battle Bridge. "Can my crew help?"
Mike paused, he knew he needed the Security personnel in Sickbay for intruder control...so he took a chance. "Legit, have any able personnel you have protect the Sickbay on Deck Twenty. Gul Navin, you're with me." Mike handed both phasers. "Wayne, lock out all transporters, shutdown the shuttlebays. Stark, lock out the main computer. Jack, tell your people in Main Engineering to secure all entrances and exits and do whatever you can to stabilize main power "
Jack nodded as he picked up his toolkit and his phaser. "I'm heading to Main Engineering, Admiral. I can get main power up and running again from there," he explained before leaving the Battle Bridge.
R'nard realized he would be facing his counterpart, and he would have to call on all his skills to defeat him. Master B'roo said the greatest conquest was to conquer oneself. Now he would prove it. He would go with his team.
Mike finished handing out weapons to everyone. "Let's go."
Lee nodded taking the weapons offered to him from the Admiral then blew out a breath as he set his weapon to heavy stun:"This should be real fun." He then headed out with his team to face against his mirror counter part.
Arriving on Deck Thirteen, Bremer’s team cautiously approached Shuttlebay Two’s access. One of the Security Officers scanned the room with a tricorder then held up ten fingers and flashed them twice indicating there were twenty people in there.
“There were four crewmembers stationed in there.” Another Officer added.
Mike nodded. He only had a team of ten, including three Cardassians. “Jones you’re with me and our Cardassians comrades, we’ll enter through here. Manz, take three and enter through the upper access, Ely, you and Jansen take the Jefferies tube and come around behind them. We’ll catch them in a crossfire.
The group nodded and took up their positions. Once everyone was in position, Manz’s team entered first. Having the high ground they had an excellent field of fire. The distraction allowed Bremer’s team to come in through the front door, as well the last two Security Officers to come around from the back. Three of the intruders fell almost immediately from phaser fire. Gul Navin aimed to take a shot, but Bremer’s Mirror had him dead to rights, but as he pressed the trigger Bremer himself pushed the Cardassian out of the way and the shot missed. Mike stood and took aim, firing back at his duplicate, hitting the bulkhead less a centimeter from his head.
Elsewhere two Security Officers were hit and fell, so was one of the Cardassians, but Bremer’s plan helped balance the odds out since they were outnumbered two-to-one. With four more intruders hit, the Mirror Bremer fired his weapon again and dropped another Security Officer, as he looked for a way out. Finding an access hatch, he tried to remove the cover by he was locked down. He stood back up to look for another way out, and had an idea. He turned fired at another Cardassian but his phaser was shot out of his hand by Bremer from across the bay. Grunting, the Mirror Bremer looked around and turned as Bremer gave chase.
The Mirror Bremer found an unguarded access ladder that had cover from most of the bay and climbed to the second level. By this time, the rest of the intruders had been stunned and rounded up and a Medical Team was on its way. Manz was leaning down trying to give first aid to one of his security officers on the second level when the Mirror Bremer came up behind him, grabbed him around his neck and threw him over the railing and down to the deck below. The Mirror Bremer then grabbed the wounded man’s phaser and fired on the remaining security officer up there, hitting him in the shoulder. He took aim again to finish him off but Bremer came up behind him and tackled him down. The phaser slid away as the Mirror Bremer tried to get up. Mike also got to his feet quickly and landed a punch to his Mirror’s face causing him to stumble again.
The Mirror Bremer regained his balance reached down to his boot and pulled a knife. He slashed at Mike face and missed, but as he swiped back he cut Bremer’s right shoulder and blood spurted out. “I’m going to finally kill you.”
Bremer smirked, reached behind his back and drew his mek’leth. “You can try...again.” He took up a defensive stance. The Mirror Bremer’s blood was boiling. He’d waited for the chance to face off with the man who’d defeated him twice in battle before and then imprisoned him for so many years, more than a decade. He let out a yell and rushed Mike. Bremer used his mek’leth to parry the knife thrusts away, taking a swing or two of his own as well. His heart filled with hate, the Mirror Bremer turned what looked like an honorable battle into a street fight, charging in again tackling Bremer. The Mirror grabbed Bremer’s right arm and slammed his hand against the metal walkway three times before Mike lost the grip to his mek’leth. Mike threw a quick punch and stunned his Duplicate, then he kicked him off and stood. The Mirror also stood and continued his relentless attack. He slashed with the knife again before grabbing Mike and slamming him against the wall. As Mike’s back impacted with the wall, his Mirror took the knife and stabbed him in the left hand pinning it to the wall. Mike let out a painful yell as he was hit again and again in the face.
Feeling he was about to finally get his revenge, the Mirror Bremer took a step back to see his hated enemy bleeding and in a near helpless position, the Mirror Bremer smiled and picked up Bremer’s mek’leth. “I’ve waited a long time for this.”
As he drew the mek’leth back to deliver a death blow, Mike managed to grab hold of the top of the panel he was leaning against and kick out with his legs. The kicked stunned his Mirror and he flew back against the walkway’s railing to catch himself before he fell over. In that instant Mike grabbed the knife with his right hand and pulled it out of the wall and his hand. Before his Mirror could make a move Mike kicked his knee then stomped down on his exposed leg, breaking it. Mike grabbed his Mirror’s left arm and slammed in against the railing until he dropped the mek’leth.
“You’re going to have to wait a little longer...and that’s mine.” He drew back and punched his Mirror again before slamming his head down onto the metal railing and slinging him down.
“Kill me!” The Mirror yelled out in an angry yet defeated voice as he tried to sit up.
Mike sheathed his mek’leth. “You’re not worth the effort.” Mike leaned down and delivered one more punch to the face, knocking his Mirror out before dropping down to a knee as the Cardassian Gul Navin, a Security Officer, and a Medic arrived. The Gul helped Bremer back up as the Security Officer put restraints on the unconscious Mirror.
“You need Medical attention Admiral.” The Medical Officer said.
“Treat the bleeding on the way to the Battle-Bridge. Jones you’re in charge here. Get the prisoners locked down.” Bremer ordered as he headed for the turbolife.
A few moment later Mike stepped out of the turbolift with help of Gul Navin while the Medic was still treating his hand.
“You alright?” K’Temoc asked, concerned.
“I’m okay.” Mike replied as he sat in the Command Chair.
“You’re duplicate?” K’Temoc asked.
“In custody.” Mike replied. “The Hattori?”
“Neutralized, adrift. “ K’Temoc replied.
"Any word from Pike and Lokran?" Mike asked, but panels started to beep.
“Admiral, we have three ships inbound at high warp, they’ll be here in minutes.” Stark announced.
“Sensors are still under repair, I can’t identify them.” Wayne added.
Mike tapped his comm-badge, “Bridge to Solomon, we need all the power you can spare.”
"I know, I know, more power!" Solomon smiled as he worked away under the various consoles in Main Engineering to try and get more power to the ship after the pounding it had taken. He pulled himself out from under the console and typed in several commands and smiled more. "Ok, I've got the Warp Core up to 70%, that's all I've got so far!"
The moments ticked by, finally the ships dropped out of warp and moved in close.
“Admiral, it’s a Cardassian Keldon class cruiser along with the starships Voyager and Defiant, they’re order us to stand down and prepare to be boarded.” Wayne announced.
Mike stood, holding onto his chair. “Power down our engines and tactical systems. Open a channel.” He knew those ships had been at Deep Space Nine for the official alliance negotiations between the Federation/Klingon Alliance and the Cardassians.
A second later Legit Evek, Rear Admiral Sisko, and Vice Admiral Janeway appeared on the screen in conference mode. K’Temoc, Cobb, and Legit Dugal stood beside Bremer. Mike tried to smirk, “About time you got here.”
“You look like you’ve had a bad day.” Janeway commented with a slight smirk of her own, yet in an authoritative tone.
“We were responding to the distress call of the Ecara.” Evek stated. "Legit Dugal sent when his ship came under attack."
“Fleet Admiral Bremer, his ship, and crew responded, and if it wasn’t for them we’d be dead. They saved us, and saved this alliance.” Legit Dugal replied.
“Where’s the rest of the Pegasus?” Sisko asked.
“It’s a long story.” Bremer replied.
“I can officially assure you Admirals, Legit, that Fleet Admiral Bremer is innocent of the charges that were brought against him.” Cobb interjected.
“We’ll remain here until tugs arrive to tow the Cardassian ship and the Hattori back to Deep Space Nine.” Sisko added.
“We have a Marine force that’s currently in the process of liberating the base the Hattori was operating out of, we need to get back there for support.” Bremer said.
“My crew will beam over to Evek’s ship. Gul Navin and I will write up full reports and submit them to the Central Command and Starfleet.” Legit Dugal said as he turned to face Bremer. “We are in your debt, and I will push for this alliance to be ratified.”
Evek nodded, “Then based on this, I will also endorse the alliance to go forward.”
“Very well, we’ll escort the Pegasus while the Defiant remains here to await the tugs.” Janeway said. “I want all logs of this event, including just how you and Commander Cobb got aboard the Pegasus and any evidence to your innocence you have.”
Mike nodded. “K’Temoc, send them everything. Chief, set course back to assist our Marines.” The Pegasus slowly turned and started to move.
Mike tapped his comm-badge, “Bridge to Engineering, Mister Solomon do we have warp capability?”
Jack ran a quick check on his console as well as taken a cautionary look at the warp core. "You've got Warp power, just don't go rushing off in a hurry. I can give you up to Warp four point five right now," he responded.
“Very good.” Mike replied. “Warp three Chief.”
Cobb replied, “I’ll have everything to you, my report, and my official recommendation that all charges against Fleet Admiral Bremer be dropped within an hour. I also highly suggest you have Admiral Mendek at Starfleet Command placed into custody. I'll have formal charges against him written up as well."
“Mendek?" She paused a moment, "There’s still a lot of questions that need answers, and there may still be disciplinary action for your escape from custody, insubordination, and others.” Janeway replied in a stern tone.
“All blame lies with me, all discipline does as well. My crew was following my orders.” Bremer sternly replied. All of the Starfleet Officers on the Bridge turned to look at Mike, they knew it wasn’t the full truth, but they also knew Mike was trying to protect them all.
Janeway knew too and smirked. “All right. Do you need any Medical or Engineering assistance?”
“We’re fine here until we arrive back at Starbase 400.” Mike replied.
“That might be a while, we have orders to escort you to Earth by Fleet Admiral Akaar.” Janeway replied.
“After we pick up our Marines, allow me to get everyone back home, then I’ll go with you to Earth. No questions asked. You’ll have all the evidence needed to prove my innocence and time to look it all over.” Mike replied, only wanting to protect his crew.
Janeway looked over at Chakotay who gave an approving nod, as did Paris, “All right. Let’s get your Marines.” Janeway allowed a smile.
Lt. Lokran staggered in and collapsed on the floor. "My counterpart is taken care of." he said. "I've never had such a challenge. I was fighting myself. All my skills plus a savagery I have never seen before." He breathed heavily. "He and his cohort are back where they belong. I need to get to sickbay..." with that, he passed out.
K'Temoc was the first to Lokran, and picked him up. "I'll get him down to the Medical staff."
Lee stepped to where all the others where, still carrying the Lirpa he had used against his mirror self "The mirror Lee has been taken into custody, three security officer where killed." He stood there with a couple broken bones and gashes from the Chaka that the mirror Lee had used against him. "I should have known better...."
Mike walked over to Pike and patted him on the shoulder, then looked back to the screen. "Maybe we do need a few more Medical Personnel."
OFF:
