Lee looked towards the screen:"Gentlemen, are your shLee had come out of his ready room and sat in his command chair:"Get me Captain Weatherlight, Commanders Winter and Coleman."

Commander Coleman was sitting in the Center Seat of the USS Endeavor when Ariel said, "Incoming transmission from Colonel Pike, to the members in the Task Group. Putting on viewer now." Then, the image of Colonel Pike, Commander Winter, and Captain Weatherlight came up.

Winter was seated in his command chair with his right arm on the right arm rest and the left in his lap. Looking at the viewscreen the image of the Saratoga bridge almost brought back a memory but Winter was more comfortable on the Laffey.

Lee looked towards the screen:"Gentlemen, are your ships ready to head for Talos IV?"

Commander Coleman looked towards his viewscreen, which showed the three Commanding Officers, and said, "The Endeavor is ready to head out and we've also got some detailed Scans of the Talos System and Talos IV, so we should be ready to head over whenever everyone's ready. Transmitting the data now." He pressed a few commands and sent everyone in the fleet the information he had gathered.

James looked at his arm chair. "This is Vanguard. Transmission received, we're ready to move out on your command, colonel."

James smiled. "Nothing better than a field trip. I recommend we operate cloaked until we arrive at the system. Given the nature of what this mission is, we don't want to give anyone a general idea of where we're going. Commander Coleman's scans are being analyzed and we'll have further recommendations when we arrive. "

Winter knew that at least one Ferengi Starship was at 400 and Ferengi were nothing if not opportunistic. Laffey was armed for bear and could easily handle a Ferengi Ship. But with Weatherlight, Coleman, Pike and himself attneding the mission, Starfleet must be expecting something other than a routine diplomatic request.

Lee nodded then tapped a few buttons:"Ok gentlemen, time for us to head for Talos IV at Warp 8, Commander Coleman I want you and a security officer to beam down to Talos IV when we get there with me and my security officer. Commander Winter you will stay in orbit just in case anything happens, you will be command up there while am on the surface."

James smiled. "Sir, what are my orders?"



"Understood. Vanguard out," the screen turned blank as he headed to the command chair. His XO which he picked himself, Commander Harmon Rabb informed him that all systems are ready.

"Set course to Talos IV, warp eight, stay in formation with the fleet."

"Aye sir," his helmsman said.

James motioned his hands in a mirrored fashion a recently retired Starfleet captain once did in command of a similar Sovereign class starship.

"Engage!"
