Stannis watched Lwazanda as she downed her drink. He knew the Admiral's unscheduled announcement would have his former boss on edge.

The Betazoid man couldn't stand to watch her unhappy. He crossed towards her quickly aND touched her arm.

"Do you have a moment to talk?" He asked her.

Lwazanda nodded, and Stannis led them from the crowded main floor.

They reached to top of the Grand Staircase and entered a small sitting room.

Stannis seemed nervous, and Lwazanda could not place why.

Lwazanda rounded a large table and seated herself in a comfortable chair. She watched Stannis pace anxiously in front of her.

'Out with it.' She said, communicating with him via the natural Betazoid psionic speech.

Stannis sighed, and confronted Lwazanda. "We have known each other a very long time. And we have worked very close with one another." He paused, looking very nervous. "I might as well just say it, I love you Lwazanda Ral. Always have, always will."

Lwazanda was in shock. She blinked at the man before her, unable to vocalize her feelings in the moment.

Stannis stepped forward and to Lwazanda's hand in his."Say something please!?" He sounded on the verge of tears.

Lwazanda only looked at her friend. Taking in his features. Still absorbing what he was saying to her.

Before she could take in anymore, Stannis leaned in and put his lips to hers. She didn’t push him away until she heard the door open.

As she pulled away, she could see he husband. He stood mouth agape, in the doorway.

"I was coming to surprise you." Said Kon, "But it seems you beat me to the punch as usual."
