After being told by General Jackson she was now volunteered as the new Division Executive Officer, and with the new rank of Major, Hondo was honored about the promotion and the new position within the 1st MARDIV. However she had another problem; one of working out a contingency plan for the two welcomed guest of the facility. One was a "Mirror-Resident", and the other was a Changeling; both quite different, but dangerous in their own right.

In the old days of the Marine Corp during the 19th to the 21st Century, threats like this would have been handled differently; but this was the 24th Century, and Starfleet does not kill for no good reason, so Hondo had worked out a sensible, and cautious plan that she and her commanders had put together. The plan if adopted would include a heavy platoon of two extra squads, a full Company. But now it was time to meet with FADM Bremer, and General Jackson; also Lt. Lokran the Chief of Security.

Having asked for a meeting with FADM Bremer and also General Jackson, Hondo walked to the Admirals office, stopped and pressed the door chime, then took a deep breath...

Mike was in his office going over various reports from the region, as well as a notice that the Station’s new Assistant Strategic Operations Officer was due in soon. Mike sent a message to Captain Pike to meet him and bring him up to speed on recent events.

Mike glanced at the time as the door chimed. “Enter”, he said aloud. When the Major entered, Mike motioned to one of the open seats. “Please, have a seat Major. Before everyone else arrives I wanted to let you know that General Jackson advised that you wanted to promote your former Regimental XO to be the new CO. At this time, I’ve decided against that. Nothing against Lieutenant Friday, but I’d like to bring him someone with a little more experience.” Mike handed her a PADD with the same information.

Saluting the Admiral, and receiving the salute back, Hondo sat on the chair, and thought to herself [ Well at least I tried, Joe would probably make a good Regimental Commander, but for now it won't be here"]

Now as she sat at attention, Hondo watched several people entering the Admirals office....

While waiting, Mike set the PADD down he was reading, realizing he seemed to come off rather cold. "Have you had a chance to look over the USS Tiriptz yet?"

"Yes Sir", replied Hondo. I've been aboard her, and she's still going through a few more refinements; but other than that she's a fine ship. I still see she's still listed under her former commander Major Morris, but even if you don't have the name change, that's not going to bother me.

Mike smirked, he simply hadn't gotten around to updating it in the system. "Major." Mike handed her a PADD. "You've been reassigned to the USS Vietnam, her Marine Detachment Commander asked for you by name. I know your time on Starbase 400 was short, but I think this is a good move for you. Good luck. A shuttle that'll take you to the Vietnam is departing in ten minutes." Mike gave a respectful nod as the Major departed.

R'nard had entered a few minutes before. He had been briefed on what was to happen, and who would be there. But at the same time, he wondered if he had a counterpart in that other universe, the mirror one. He shuddered to think of what would be his opposite.

Jackson entered the room, and greeted everyone.

Once Jackson arrived, Mike stood up. “You’re all fully aware of the current situation, both of them. First to the Changeling known as Kratz. A little while ago, there was an incident on the Promenade. From the report I received a civilian approached Kratz and berated him about the Dominion war, blaming him for the death of his family. Kratz changed his form into some kind of large bear and the man backed away, but he didn’t attack. Kratz is back in his quarters now. First Ramata’tar is on duty outside his quarters, but I want more security on the Promenade incase Kratz wants to go people watching again.” Mike looked at Lokran.

"It is alrready done, sirr. I have increased security on him." said R'nard.

“Next, turning over my duplicate to JAG. We’ve been ordered to stay out of their way, the will be using their own security, however this is my station and its security is my business. General I want three rifle squads ready. One will be posted inside, outside, and within the corridor leading to the maximum security brig. They’ll be there to ‘back up’ the on duty Brig Officers, and also be a show of force. The second will be outside the airlock the Kuznetsov docks at and along the corridor leading to it. The third will escort the JAG Officer and his team to and from the Brig with Prisoner 001.” Mike stated, looking at Jackson and Magbangan.

Mike then looked around at all three, “Other thoughts or suggestions?

"If we have one, there may be others." said R'nard. "And looking just like their counterparts. We need to keep our eyes and ears open." He didn't know how accurate his statement would be.

Jackson spoke, "Admiral, we already tasked an entire platoon to cover the Security Area, consisting of four squads. We can adjust their assignments at Security accordingly. We also tasked a Company as a QRF, or Quick Reaction Force. They are currently on standby in Marine Country, ready to move on a word. The Major volunteered to oversee the Platoon assigned to Security. "

Mike nodded, "Very well." It was good enough. While he didn't expect trouble, he wanted to not only give a show of force to his duplicate, but also make it known to the JAG Officer, Commander Cobb, that Bremer was in charge her, not him.

Before he left the room, Jackson congratulated his now former XO, and wished her well. The Vietnam was making a medical supply run to Rura Penthe, so he was a little jealous that the Major got to see the galaxy. He then nodded to the Admiral, and left the room.

"If there isn't anything else, dismissed." Mike added. Not only did he have a family event to get to, but he had another stop to make while on his way...
