Location: Multiple Locations

STARBASE 400’S MAIN HANGER AREA
If the drunken Marines thought MCRD was easy, they didn’t have Lt. Friday, who was known as the Marine recruit’s nightmare. Using Psychology, and years of dealing with Marines through his years at MCRD, and as a staff officer in several combat units; he learned how to motivate the Marines, and also how to break down the Marines to the lowest level.

Now screaming, and making them march at double-time, then having them run more than two to four times around the massive hanger deck, the Marines soon sobered up, and now with Lt. Friday, they suddenly discovered that the “Old Lady” was no pushover like the old Regimental Commander who tried to be a kinder, but disciplined commander.

Now with the Lt. easily running with the platoon of overweight, and out of shape Marines who just managed to pass their PT tests, there was now a lot of Marines now begging for a break, but Lt. Friday did not see it that way, he had a job, and he was going to make sure these Marines knew what work was.

Now with the straggler now able to keep up with the rest of the platoon, they were now running at twice the normal speed. Having to crawl, go under obstructions, climb over cargo containers, Lt. Friday was relentless, and seeing that these Marines were now on automatic pilot, just trying to survive, he called “Marines, march time halt”. Now coming to a halt, the entire platoon waited for another order from the Lieutenant.

Seeing that he now had them working together, he ordered “Forward March”, and again the murderous run was now taking them back to the Regimental area, and after another run up and down more than 200 decks, he led the now sober Marines to the Regimental area, where all of the individual Marines command staff was now waiting.

Now 0700 hrs, the Marines came to a halt in front of their command staff who were all silent. Looking at each of the Marines with fire in their eyes, they had been awakened and ordered to report to the Regimental Commanders deck to sign for each of their Marines.

As the platoon was given the position of rest, each commander had to go in and face Hondo who was not happy about the brawl that had caused over 120,000 Federation Credits worth of damage. After signing for their individual prisoner, they were all told by TOP to expect a meeting with Hondo, and to bring their entire command, and be in Class “A” uniforms.

REGIMENTAL COMMANDERS OFFICE
2nd Lieutenant Brewer was just happy to be at SB400, a recent graduate from SF Marine Academy, he had scored highly and his posting at SB400 was a dream come true. In his office, expecting the day to pass without incident, he suddenly received a com from Hondo who said ‘Lt. Brewer I want you to report to my office NOW!”

Not sure of what she meant, Lt. Brewer of A Company, along with Lt. Sims of D Company, were now waiting outside the office of Hondo as she grilled everyone. As they all stood at attention as Hondo now began to chew out there asses, and when Hondo found out that the Marines in front of her were from 3nd Battalion, the atmosphere got even colder.
Now after having to sign for two of his now sober Marines, and taking them back to the company, they had stay in a two man dorm, which was guarded by one of the Marines from the unit. The only place the two Marines could go to was to the mess hall, latrine, and back to their bunks until they and their command staff had met with Hondo.

A day later, the two Marines were ordered into their Class “A” uniforms, and as they left their rooms they found Lt. Brewer, along with the XO, First Sergeant, Platoon Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and their Squad Leaders all wearing Class “A” uniforms. Now in a small formation, Lt. Brewer gave the orders to march up the decks to the Commanders office.

After First Sergant Ermey called Hondo, who had been reading the MP reports on all 60 Marines, and the total amount of damage done to the establishment, she said “ENTER!”. Entering Lt. Brewer along with his entire command staff along with the two Marines saluted for the entire group, and was about to say something when Hondo cut him off short and said

“Lt. Brewer, did I tell you to speak?” ‘No ma’am” you didn’t tell me to speak. “Because I am the only one doing the talking and all of you will sit there with your mouths shut”. “Is that understood!” “YES MA’AM”! came the reply.

First she had the Squad Leader, then the Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Leader, First Sergeant, Executive Officer, and Lt. Brewer stand up and tell her why the two Marines failed to follow the Regiments drinking policy, and the Divisions drinking policy. Next they had to tell her how they would prevent any more drunkenness among their Marines. As everyone sweated, as they talked to Hondo who just sat there watching them and not saying anything, they all stumbled as they tried to show her what they would do.

Finally hearing enough she passed her judgement. With Lt. Friday and First Sergeant Ermey as witnesses she had the two errant Marines stand up in front of her, then she stripped them of their old rank of PFC and reduced them all to Private, next she deducted their pay for a month, and ordered them to stay in the barracks two man room for two months, and were banned from the NCO/EM club for a period of a year.

Then she ordered them to a drinking diversion program, which the Commander or his Executive had to attend to make sure they were in attendance. Then she gave them to First Sergeant Ermey who would make them work for a six week period doing the most gross, and smelliest job he could think of.

Then she said… “Lt. Brewer do you have any questions about the sentence I just passed down?” “No ma’am”. Then so be it. “Lt. you and your people are dismissed.

And for the next two days the same procedure took place as word spread that the Commander was not going to tolerate her Regiments Marines drinking and causing trouble in the EM/NCO club.

Soon the people who did statistics at Division personnel noticed that among the three Regiments in the Division, the 327th after Hondo instated her own draconian method of preventing her Marines from being drunk in public or being apprehended by Security or Military Police for fighting in public; not one Marine from her regiment was every picked up ro sent to the brig, while the other Regiments had problems.

MARINE HOLODECK - MIDDLE EAST SCENARIO 2016
However there was one more incident, where a Marine had been picked up by Hondo, and even after the talking to by his command he continued to get into trouble. This time the Marine was sent to a Marine Holodeck, where the computers simulated a planet with a hot climate of over 115 degrees in the shade, no outward shaded areas, and hot dry climatic weather conditions with winds of over 20 mph.

Forced to stand guard atop a metal tower constructed of sandbags, Dressed in the old style Marine Corp "Desertpat" camouflage uniform of the 21st century, the Marine wore the old style Kevlar helmet, his entire combat load of phaser batteries, a non-operating Phaser Rifle, grenades, and a ruck sack which contained a 180lb piece of metal that was fitted to the body armor of a 21st Century Marine who fought in the Middle East during one of its six Middle east Wars. Besides this was a camel back 1/2 liter water unit that had to last his entire 12 hours on guard duty. If he drank too much there would not be any replacement.

For the next seven days, the Marine would have to stand on the platform for 12 hours calling into a simulated command post and give a SALUTE (Size, Activity, Location, Unit, Type and Equipment). To make sure the Marines was well, a Hospital Corpsman and the Company Commander would have to check up on the Marine condition once every four hours for the next seven days.

After this episode, no one from the 327th was ever picked up by Hondo for being apprehended for public intoxication, or fighting among the other Marines while out on liberty. The only place the Marines could fight was in the Holodeck that Hondo allowed the Marines to use.
