Mission:
Mission 76 - Home comings
Location: Bridge/Pegasus
6 hours before beaming down...
Alexandra stood on the bridge but her thoughts were with Pike. She felt a little nervous about their mission. With the history of the planet's inhabitants, she was nervous for him. She hoped that he would exceed without a hitch but knowing how these missions go, she wasn't confident at all. Not that she didn't have faith in Pike's abilities but she didn't trust the brainiacs. In the back of her mind, she couldn't stop being suspect of them. Maybe they're on the up and up but she still had some doubts. She continued to do her job on the bridge.
5 hours before beaming down...
The time seemed to drag on. One hour seemed like ten. She was tired and hungry but nervous and antsy at the same time. Being understaffed, it meant that the hours on the bridge was longer than usual. She did everything to keep herself awake. Her relief would be there soon.
4 hours before beaming down...
Still trying to do her job, her mind seemed to wander. She started to think about her son. He would be at SB400 in a day or so. T'Lar had to make a stop on her way to the base. She wished that she was with him instead of being here on the Pegasus. She missed him but knowing that she'd be reunited with him soon made her smile. She went from thinking about Pike to her son and back again to Pike's mission and then to their mission to Earth. She was a bit nervous as well when it comes to dealing with Starfleet. She had heard that they wanted to ask a few more questions before they could get Janice back. What else could they possibly want to know? Politics, never good.
3 hours before beaming down...
Finally, her relief came. She was so glad to see him. She didn't waste any time getting off the bridge. Walking into her quarters, she wasn't sure if she needed to eat or to puke. So many things was going through her mind, so many feelings flowing through her. Food didn't look good and she didn't feel like relaxing just yet. She decided to take advantage of the holodecks. She still had three hours before they leave for the planet's surface. She already had a program in mind. After making her request, she walked inside the holodeck. She prepared herself before she began, "Computer, level five." Two aliens appeared before her, ready to kick some ass. This was just what the doctor ordered.
2 hours before beaming down...
Alex had sweat from head to toe but she felt so much better. She just had enough time to take a hot shower, eat and then relax until she had to meet everyone in the transporter room.
1 hour before beaming down...
She was now bathed and fed but relaxing was a bit more tricky. She would be happy once they beam down and get Janice back on the ship. She'd then make one more stop before they leave Earth. She felt it necessary to pay her respects to her husband and then to his parents. She needed some closure in this long battle with him and the in-laws. Bremer would understand.
Time continues to count down...
Standing by as Bremer requested, she still wasn't feeling 100 percent comfortable with this trek of Bremer's. Then again, maybe she was just being paranoid.
