A Blast from the Past...

Posted on Sun Oct 12th, 2014 @ 7:39pm by Captain Jack Solomon

386 words; about a 2 minute read

Mission: Mission 86 - Discovery
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: MD 4, 1330hrs (Following tbd...USS Essex)

Jack was happy to be back home and he felt able to relax a little once the Essex had docked at SB400. He had enjoyed the mission, the chance to serve on a Starship again and the chance to throw himself into the mix on the away mission.

But he was happy to be home again and getting the chance to sort his quarters before his next shift was due to start tomorrow. It all seemed a blur now from when he arrived on the station, to the fleet movement and then the recent mission on the Essex...and the fact remained he still hadn't unpacked the boxes of his belongings sent from Earth during his time at Starfleet Operations.

Now seemed like a good time to get everything sorted and in order.

The memories came flooding back to Jack as he unpacked all his belonging's that were sent from storage on Earth to the station. He placed PADD's, Models of the starships he'd served on (The Wildcat, The Essex, The Valkyrie), pictures of friends and family long gone in all of the places he was happy with to make it all more homely and with all his various uniforms and off duty clothes put away, pretty soon his place was ship shape and sorted, apart from the final PADD left on the bed that was beeping for attention.

Jack ordered a mint flavoured Hot Chocolate from the replicator and then he sat down and lounged back in the armchair, taking a sip from his drink and picking the PADD up and opening the pending message.

"Hello Beloved. Its been a while since we've been in touch. I think we need to talk again."

Jack sat bolt upright as he read out the next passage...

"I hope life on a starbase is treating you well. I'll see you soon. Talia."

Jack read the entire message again to be absolutely certain he understood it and he'd read it correctly. It meant only one thing. Talia was alive and she was coming after him again. Just when life was getting back to normal. He had the computer run a check on sender ID etc, but he knew the answer before the computer did.

He sat back in the chair and sighed.

"I hate psychopathic ex-girlfriends."

To be continued...
