Mission:
Mission 86 - Discovery
Location: Marine Country-Command Office
Timeline: MD2-0900 hrs-After Frustration
As Jackson walked into the office, he tried very hard to maintain his bearing. But the truth was, he was fuming. To doubt the loyalty of his Marines just because of their DNA was unacceptable. The Federation Marine Corps did not hand the uniform to just anybody. Marines go through their own personal hell to earn it, even in peace time. That Captain just made his shit list. Unfortunately, at least for now, he had to give a little, to minimize the friction between the base, and those Section 31 wannabees. He approached Major T'Lynn.
"Good Morning Major. I need your help with a minor annoyance. As strange as this may sound, I need you to pull all the Vulcan Marines you can, including junior officers, and from the support units. I don't care if they are communications, civil affairs, weapons techs, food prep, etc... I need them assembled in Marine Briefing 1 immediately. I will be there in 10 minutes. Also have the honor detail standing by near the transporter rooms."
She nodded to him, "Understood I will get on that right away sir," T'Lynn stated looking at him. She wondered what this Vulcan VIP was about.
Between his meeting with with T'Lyn, and hs meeting with the new additions to the VIP section roster, Jax slipped into his dress uniform. The rush to change was annoying, but needed.
He made it to the briefing room in exactly nine minutes. Assembled inside were most of the Vulcans that were marines. Only a couple besides T'Lyn were obviously in the infantry, both junior officers. The rest were exactly as he stated earlier, support marines. They came to attention as soon as he walked in.
"Stand at ease." They all assumed the position of parade rest. "Okay, I have to make this quick because the VIPs are arriving soon. You are all going to be integrated into the guard, and roving patrol rotation on the VIP level. No explanation is needed at this time. You all had basic, so you all know sentry procedures. The new rotation starts immediately, so suit up. The sergeants of the guard will advise you of your ROE. Now move!"
The Vulcan Marines, all with subdued, but puzzled looks on their faces, scrambled out of the briefing room. The VIP level would be rotated just in time for the VIPs to reach that level. The rest of the station's posts, and patrols would remain the same.
"Sir, why only Vulcans and Humans are on this duty roster and not everyone else?" T'Lyn asked as she did not understand.
Jackson was almost reluctant to answer the question, knowing that most Vulcans shared a kindred spirit with one another, but he also know T'Lyn deserved an answer. "This is almost unbelievable, but the Diplomatic Chief of Security, Captain T'Sen, seems to hold racist feelings toward non-Vulcan, and non-Human Marines. To make it worse, it is effecting his judgement in an official capacity."
He punched up Commander Roebuck's incident report on his PADD, and handed it to T'Lyn. "We will speak more of this after we receive the VIPs, but until then, we will follow the Admiral's lead, and appease the good Captain, for now."
He started for the door, and stopped for a moment. "I am very grateful for your help. I could not do this without you."
T'Lyn took the report from him and looked it over and raised an eyebrow. "Interesting," she stated as she looked at him again. "I will do my best sir." T'Lyn stated looking at him.
"I am sure you will," Jax said. Then he turned around, and hurried to meet up with the honor guard.
