Leiutenent JG Wooldridge personal log. stardate...........well after a long trip from home i'm not really sure what the stardate is out here.

well, im here. Starbase 400. Assisstant Cheif Engineer. not exactly the career choice i envisioned when i was in the academy but anything's good enough for me. took me a while to find my way around here, this place has over 2,700 decks! i'm in sector E1, im told. well, something's tells me i'm going to get lost a lot round here.

i still dont know what my duties are here. whether i'm deployed on a starship as temporary crew for when they work-up from refit or am i fixing things on the base? i wish it's the former. i quite fancy wrapping myself round different ships now and then. gives more challenge to the job. more variety, you know.

i hear Admiral Bremer, the CO of this base, is quite a guy, he took a demotion back to captain to save the base from scrapping. rather then sat in a quiet office, he'll rather be out here, in the thick of it. i like that. i may be new, but something tell's me i may do well out here.

well i'm gonna go now and get some food, wherever that is.
