Admiral's Personal Log, Stardate 64836.6:
As I sit here in my office, I can't help but feel that this is the end of an era. Not just with the destruction of Romulus and Remus, but now the...in my opinion...the premature decommissioning of the Enterprise-E.
I understand that Captain Picard is ready to retire, return home to France and live a simpler life. He's earn it, he deserves it. However that ship still has life in her, and Worf would make a good Captain.
I'm told that Jean-Luc did recommend him for command of the Enterprise-E, but Starfleet declined. I've inquired as to why, but all I have been told is it is time for another vessel named `Enterprise`to make her own history. At least I know her CO, Rear Admiral X. J. Douglas, and he's making the Enterprise-F the flagship of `Battle Group Pearl`, and apart of the Ninth Fleet, along with SB400.
Still, Worf deserves a command of his own, and I have sent that recommendation to Starfleet Command. I've also followed up Captain Picard's recommendation for Geordi LaForge to receive his own command too, with one of my own.
So many changes going on...my son, K`Wor, awaiting for his appointment to Starfleet Academy, my daughter, Becca, now wanting to attend too. It seems like yesterday they were born.
This is truly a time of change...for the galaxy, Starfleet, and me personally.
