“Personal Log, Stardate 66411.2. I just finished my ‘convocation’ with the Starfleet Board of Reviews regarding the loss of the Yorktown. Needless to say, they are not happy with me, but as I explained, they would’ve been even less happy if the Jem Hadar had rammed the Pegasus. The loss of a Defiant class ship with few casualties is nothing compared to the possible loss of a Galaxy class refit with all hands.”
“In the end, they voted that the loss was in due course of battle and there was no negligence on my part. They did order that I speak with Counselor Dallas when possible to make sure there’s no lingering mental issues since this was the first command I’ve lost.”

“I looked at the vessels that are under construction here and there is one Defiant class. Although she still has a ways to go, I’m thinking about requesting her as the new vessel for the Special Operations Team, and renaming her to Yorktown. A few people have suggested I just take command of the Vanguard, Venator, or another ship already here…but there’s something about the Defiant class that I just love.”
