Stardate 65091.7:
The Laffey has joined up with her task group for an eventual mission to Talos IV. Officially the mission is to retrieve the remains of Commodore Christopher Pike, one of Starfleet's early pioneering leaders. I like many of my peers wonder including that of the Admiral believe why they have chosen this time now over a century since Pike was returned to this area to begin with. I must confess it does sound interesting. Endeavor conducted Long Range Scans of the system and forwarded the copies to the rest of us in the hopes of us able to ascertain the nature of the mission. With Laffey being a tactical vessel our job has become much more clear in this mission. We are to once we enter Orbit, maintain security over the ceremony site and the overall system. I can only wonder why now. What's in it for the Talosians to return to the Federation one of its many outstanding legendary Starfleet Officers."
