So, we’re finally here. Sorry i haven’t been updating you as much as I should do; I’ve been busy training my squad on Rules and Reg’s for when we get down there.
Venator’s lagging behind as her commander was taken ill mid-warp. She’s in a bad way I heard. That’s a massive blow. We could have done with Yamaguchi’s experience on this run. I hear more now then I used to as I’ve been running transporter status on the bridge, replacing LT-CDR Bale, who broke a leg falling down a Jeffries.
We got the low-down on the conditions on the ground from the first starship on scene; USS Cuba NCC-2897, Miranda Class, converted to a transport vessel. Apparently the situation down there is abysmal. Looks like the ruptures from the earthquake kicked off a dormant volcano that now spewing smoke and ash over the colony. I don’t know what that will mean for the evacuation effort for the wounded. As transport chief now, looks s like I got another headache.
Final prep’s in 4 hours with the details about which squad’s are going down with the first wave. Coleman’s delivering the briefing himself. We might get lucky and be first one’s down. How I don’t know yet. Guess we’re going to have to see about that one eh.
