Mission: Mission 75 - Time of Change
Location: Various Parts of the Base
Timeline: Current

Holly heard through the base that there was a new ship being finally refitted for a commissioning that was due to happen soon. She decided on her way to her quarters to see if her things got in or not to stop by. Perhaps she would find the Captain of the vessel as it was a long standing military tradition for a Captain of a new ship to watch the final touches from affair. It wasn't easy but something that made both cold feet at a wedding and the shakes before a test into one Olympic sport. Hard to do some would say but in her mind it was effortless, because somehow staring out the window knowing the ship will be yours to command was worth the nervous anticipation. She had to shake her head she was daydreaming again in the turbo.

When it stopped at the destination she let everyone else out before getting out herself. She had to take a look at this ship that would be launching soon. Something told her to and normally her instincts didn't lead her too far off of what was good for her. Walking down the corridor she could hear her boots echo off the decking. Port after port she passed before coming upon a place to view the docked ships. There were people milling about and various emotions to pick up on but she blocked them knowing full well it would just overwhelm her if she let everyone in. It was time for her to gather her thoughts before pushing through the journey she just started and maybe perhaps meet a new comrade to help her.

On his way to the Avenger, Ryan made his way past the viewing dock to see her from the outside. As he came around the corner he bumped into someone. Ryan quickly turned to see who it was.

"I am sorry..."

He paused. Ryan looked at the person he just ran into, but didn't recognize the face, just the rank.

"Lieutenant."

That momentary shuffle between officers who happen to bump into each other just happened to her and a brush of emotions let her know what was going on as she wasn't paying much attention to her surroundings when the whole thing happened. It took her a while to take in the rank before she spoke putting her hands behind her back out of reflex more than anything. "It is quite alright Captain. I should be paying more attention to my surroundings and not getting lost in a ship." She then smiled just a little bit as distance was added between them. "Old habits die hard." Extending a hand to him like she's seen humans greet one another many times she introduced herself. "I am Lieutenant Holly Gillo the new chief of station operations."

Ryan extended his hand to meet hers in a shake.

"I am Captain Greenwood. Commanding Officer of the USS Avenger."

Ryan paused for a moment. He wondered if she had time to get any finishing information on the Avenger.

"Lieutenant. I know you are new here, but do you by any chance know if the Avenger is ready for her shakedown cruise? I am on my way to see her and was hoping we would be cleared for launch."

She had to smile he was just like every Captain that she had ever met before a first launch..nervous. But she did keep her distance even though she saw shadows of her past in him. "I was able to get some information but not a launch date for your ship Captain." She then paused looking out on the Avenger, "Might be a sign...to get to know your lady before you have to depend on her with your life."

Ryan smiled. She wasn't aware that he had already been on board.

"I have already had the chance. Now I am just waiting on clearance to depart. If you would Lieutenant, could you contact me when she is finished? I will be on board getting settled in."

"I will Captain if I manage to find my way back to my duty post from checking into my quarters." She smiled a bit at him before looking at him, "After all I am new and relatively unfamiliar with the station layout it might take me sometime."

Ryan knew the feeling. Even after years of being on stations he still was able to get lost from time to time.

"It is okay. I still get lost on occasion."

Ryan smiled to reassure her. He then looked back at the Avenger.

"It has been nice to meet you Lieutenant. I am going to see my ship. I will be awaiting for the go ahead from you. Welcome to the station Lieutenant."

"Thank you Captain," She then smiled before adding, "Just wish I was going with you. You're ship looks allot like my last post looked from afar." Unclasping her hands from behind her back she then continued in the direction she was going hoping not to get too lost along the way.
