Mission: Mission 80 - Outpost
Location: USS Pegasus, Bridge
Timeline: Few hours after 'Outpost - Status...'

ON:

The Task Force had finally returned to Starbase 400. The Pegasus held position in orbit of the Station while the rest of the ships docked, then the big Galaxy Class Refit started her approached, sliding gracefully though the massive space doors and into the internal bay.

Admiral Bremer was on the Bridge, but he’d promised Doctor Mclintock that as soon as the ship docked he would go to his Quarters on the Station and rest…sleep for a full un-interrupted hours.

Mike had read all of the reports from his ship COs and sent them all 'Thank you' messages for their hard work during the mission. He also had most of his reports finished. One Ship’s Log, one Personal Log, one Admiral’s Log, two reports to Starfleet Command, one report to Vice Admiral Sisko (to add to his reports to Starfleet Command), and one ‘report’ to the Romulans that he’d promised Tomalok.

As the Pegasus eased into her docking bay and the gravitational supports and docking clamps grabbed hold, Chief Branson looked back at Bremer, “Docking maneuvers completed Admiral.”

Bremer stood up. “Secure all systems. Damage control teams make a full inspection of the ship from stem to stern.” Bremer said to the Bridge crew.

He looked around at everyone running diagnostics and scans, then slowly stood up and looked at K’Temoc.

“All systems secure.” K’Temoc reported.

Mike flashed a smiled, “Dismissed.” He said to the Bridge crew. Everyone signed out of their stations and cleared the Bridge, Mike was the last one onto the Turbolift.

Several minutes later, Mike slowly walked into his Quarters. His youngest son, Christopher, saw him come in and came running toward him. “Daddy!” The three year old slammed into his father’s leg. Normally Mike would of just picked him up and gave him a hug, but this time Mike stumbled. His leg still sore from the knife wound. He gently leaned down and rubbed his son on the back.
“Where’s your mom?”
About the same time Mike asked, Janice came from the Kitchen. She took one look at Mike and knew something was wrong. “What happened?”

“I’ll tell you later, right now I have a promise to keep and need to lay down.” Mike replied trying to smile.

His twin twelve year old son and daughter Marc and Emmaline overheard their parents talking and came into the Den from the Play Room.

“Dad are you okay?” Marc asked.

“I’m fine, I just need to get some rest.” Mike replied, trying to reassure his kids.

“Did you get into another fight Daddy?” Emmaline asked.

Mike smirked, “Nothing I couldn’t handle.”

“Okay, let’s let your father get some rest.” Janice said.

“Feel better Dad.” Marc said as he walked back to the Play Room.

“I love you Daddy.” Emmaline added as she walked off too.

“I lay down with you Daddy.” Christopher said, then he took Mike by the hand and started to pull him toward his Bedroom. Mike smiled, “All right, come on…but you have to lay down.”

“Kay.” Christopher replied with a smile.
