Everyone can be a suspect

“Computer, pull up the crew manifest. Authorization Zeta-Queen-one-three-Delta.” Saith said quietly. It took just a moment, then “Authorization accepted,” the computer replied in its creepy voice. Saith wondered if anyone else on board found the computers voice creepy or if it was just her.

‘Might as well start at the top’ she thought to herself as she pulled up Admiral Bremer’s file. She knew there would be a lot of information left out, missing, or classified beyond her security clearance but she had to start somewhere.

The idea was to become as acquainted with as much of the crew and their history as possible while there were no ongoing investigations. This would serve multiple purposes. First, she could get a sense of who each person was, what made them tick, and what their personalities were. Second, it would help when an investigation was started to have some idea of who was loyal, who wasn’t, and who may or may not be depending on what circumstances. Saith knew under the right circumstances anyone could be a suspect for anything, even if on the surface it seemed out of character. There were other reasons for reviewing records as well, but the positives of such a crew review were enormous.

Later, maybe the second part of her shift she would review some of the more recent mission logs for more insight. In that way, she would not only be up-to-speed so to speak, but she would give herself a break from crew records and reduce the chances of missing important information.

None of her colleagues had as yet said anything to her, but she had noticed a few glances in her direction. She was not sure if she was an unwanted member of the team, or if they just didn’t want to disturb her while she was working. ‘Stay where you are, it is fine with me’ she thought to herself as she read. “Hmmm, Admiral Bremer has a few children,” she said quietly. She considered the idea of twins. Multiple births were rare in the Rihannsu and the Vulcans. She returned to her perusal of the records.
