Mission: Episode 121 - "Where There's A Section, There's A Way"
Location: Starbase 400, Bremer's Office
Timeline: -Current-

ON:

The morning following Neelix's dinner turned party, Mike was in his office looking over a PADD, reading the details of the USS Kowloon's power grid failure and the ship's near total loss.

Mike turned and tapped his desk's display screen and pulled up a list of mothballed ships at Avalon Fleet Yards. One quickly caught his eye, the Galaxy Class USS Robinson, NCC-71842. Mike sent a message over to the new Commanding Officer of AFY, Captain Garabaldi and instructed him to pull the Robinson into drydock and ready the ship for reactivation.

The reactivation of a mothballed ship could take time, depending on how long the ship was sitting decommissioned. Thankfully, the Robinson had been decommissioned in 2398, so she had only been sitting for a few years, and very little of her systems and equipment had been removed.

Mike tagged the request as 'Priority' and sent it over.

As he turned the monitor off, his door chime beeped. "Enter."

Bashir strolled through, "Good morning."

"It was." Mike smiled and winked at his old friend.

Bashir smirked, "The time table for my meetings on Earth changed, so the Enterprise will arrive tomorrow to take myself, Neelix, and his family to Earth a few days early.

Mike nodded. "I've already sent a message to AFY to get the Robinson re-commissioned to replace the Kowloon, but it'll take time. Until them, I'll ask Fleet Admiral Sevlek to send Fleet Admiral Cartwright a list of five ships that could be reassigned from the Beta Quadrant to the Alpha Quadrant quickly."

Bashir nodded. "Thank you. I've already let Worf and Raffi know of the timeline change, but we'll continue with the plan we worked up earlier. I'll let them know additional assets will be forthcoming as well. However, until we hear something, anything from Garek, we're just guessing what the Cardassians are really up to."

"Agreed." Mike replied as he leaned back in his chair.

Julian took a seat on one of the sofas and also leaned back. After a moment, he let out a laugh.

Mike leaned forward and raised an eyebrow.

"I never thought you, or all people, would be willing to work with Section 31." Bashir said with a laugh.

Mike gave Bashir a blank stare for a moment, then joined in on the laughing. "You're right, never in a million years, just don't ever tell my younger self."

After a moment, both men stood and shook hands. "I'll keep you updated. Thank you Mike."

"You're welcome Julian." Mike replied.

After the handshake, Julian turned and left Mike's office. Mike took a seat at his desk, activated his wall display behind the desk, and studied the information displayed.
