Mission: Episode 121 - "Where There's A Section, There's A Way"
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: Current

ON:

It felt like forever...or at least several months...

Mike was in his office on Level 160 adjacent to Ops. He looked out the window and into the vastness of Starbase 400's internal docking bay. Tugs were moving the USS Long Beach moved out of her normal berth, Docking Port 25, and towed out of the docking bay toward an exterior dry dock for overhaul. At the same time, a Lamarr class vessel slowly entered the bay and moved toward the now empty Port 25.

The comms broke the silence, "Admiral, the USS Al-Batani is arriving."

Mike took a deep breath, then turned sharply, picked up two PADDs from his desk, and walked out of his office and into Ops.

"K'Temoc, you have Ops until T'Lar returns. Let her know I'm going to meet our guests aboard the Al-Batani."

K'Temoc nodded, but Lieutenant JG Roebuck spoke up from one of the new Docking Control stations near the middle of Ops that surrounded the new larger Master Situation Display and Holographic Interface. "Sir, the USS Mikasa just entered the system and is requesting permission to dock. She's not on the docking schedule for today."

Mike glanced at K'Temoc then back to Roebuck, "Permission granted. Have Ensign Conway and Gunney Agtx meet them at the airlock and escort the Captain up here."

"Aye sir." Roebuck replied.

Mike turned toward the turbolift, then looked back, "Petty Officer de Luca, have First Ramata'tar meet me at the Al-Batani's air lock."

A few minutes later, Mike with the big Jem'Hadar behind him, stepped into the air lock of Docking Port 25. Walking toward them were four people, one in a Starfleet uniform with Captain's pips, the other three in civilian clothing. Mike recognized one of them right away. A moment later, he also recognized Bremer.

"Admiral!"

Mike took another deep breath and closed his eyes for a moment. Ramata'tar saw Mike's reaction and took a step forward, to which Mike slowly shook his head allowing Ramata'tar to stand easy again.

"It's been far too long, how are you!" Neelix said with a big smile as he stepped right up to Bremer.

"I'm doing well Neelix, it's good to see you again." Mike replied. "Dexa, welcome to the Alpha Quadrant and Starbase 400."

"Thank you. And you remember Brax ." She smiled as she replied.

Mike nodded, "I do, Brax welcome aboard."

"Brax is a member of the Talaxian Defense Force at our asteroid colony, which as really grown in the last few years since you visited." Neelix added.

Mike handed Brax a PADD. "This is everything you'll need to know before arriving at Starfleet Academy on Earth for your classes. The USS Discovery is scheduled to arrive in a few days to take you to Earth, so you're welcome to use the class rooms of the Academy's Campus here on the station. There're located on Level 800. There's only a handful of Cadets here right now, most of the summer semester classes are over."

"The Discovery?" Neelix asked. "I was hoping maybe the Voyager-B or even the Enterprise-G would be taking us."

"The Enterprise is wrapping up a mission with some Borg friends," Mike realized how that may sound to Neelix, "and Voyager is finishing up an overhaul at McKinley Station." Mike handed Neelix the other PADD he carried. "This has your quarters assignments while you're board the Station, and a little information on what Captain Seven, Captain Chakotay, Captain Tuvok, and Admiral Janeway are up to."

Neelix skimmed the PADD. "This say the USS Discovery is going to Earth for decommissioning?"

Mike nodded. "Many of the old Excelsior class ships were pulled out of mothballs for various reasons, now they're being re-retired. Discovery is going back into the reserve fleet, but I think a new vessel will carry on the name is '05 or '06. Probably a Gagarin Class."

Neelix smiled and nodded. "Well then, tonight Mr. Admiral you're going to allow me to cook for you and your Senior Staff. Just point me towards a kitchen and..."

Mike forced a smile, "The Senior Staff's Galley and Ward Room are on Level 14. I'll have someone meet you around sixteen-hundred hours."

Neelix smiled, "That would be perfect. Oh you're going to love it."

Mike smiled again as he motioned toward the turbolift and allowed the Talaxians to proceed. He then turned back toward the Al-Batani's Captain, but she had already returned to her ship.

Once the turbolift doors closed Ramata'tar looked over at Mike, he was looking out into the docking bay. "You do not like the furry little Talaxian?"

"No no, I do. Neelix is a good man...but sometimes his voice and his overly niceness...it really gets to my Klingon half." Mike smirked.

As he turned toward the turbolift his comm-badge beeped. "Admiral, this is Ensign Conway. We've escorted the Commanding Officer of the Mikasa to Ops. He insisted on meeting you in your office."

Mike tapped his comm-badge, "Thank you Ensign, I'm on my way."

A few minutes later Mike returned to Ops. Gunnery Sergeant Agtx was standing outside of Mike's office. "Conway isss in ttrrerre witth the Commander."

Mike nodded as Ramata'tar took position beside the nearest turbolift door to Mike's Office in Ops as Mike walked in.

The Commander had his back to the door as he was standing at the same window looking into the docking bay Mike was at not too long ago himself. He nodded to Conway who stepped out.

"Commander, you requested to see me?" Mike asked.

Commander Bashir turned around to face Bremer with a serious look on his face, "Admiral, we need to discuss Section 31."
