Mission: Episode 118 - "It's About Family"
Location: SB400 OPS/T'Lar's Quarters
Timeline: Current

With Admiral Bremer being in sickbay, Deela was kept busy. She had to make sure that the base was truly Changeling free. She was tired of being on full alert and just longed for a day when she could relax. Fortunately, there would be a wedding. Once Bremer was released from sickbay, the wedding would take place.

A security officer informed her, "Admiral T'Lar, we made a final sweep of the base and it's all clear."

"Thank you." She looked around OPS. Everyone was going about their business. Things were finally calm. She walked out of OPS and went to her quarters. Her kids were sitting around playing virtual video games. Deela went to the kitchenette and made herself a cup of coffee.

Brandon left his sister to her game and joined his mom, "So, what's the word?"

"Everything is fine now. The threat is gone, for now." She wasn't convinced that they wouldn't be coming back.

"Good." Brandon replicated a hot chocolate for himself and his sister, "A lot of people got hurt. I hope they are okay."

"Most of them. We had a few casualties but we'll recover. As for Bremer, he's recovering from his injuries as well."

Brandon looked surprise, "Oh? I didn't know he got hurt."

""I've been so busy, we haven't really had a chance to talk. I do apologize for that."

"It's okay. You're home now." He wanted to spend some time with her before he left for Starfleet Academy."

"No, it is not okay. You are leaving in a few days and with everything going on, it has taken time away from us." Brandon just kind of looked at her, not used to her showing her emotions. Deela sighed, "Sorry. I am going to miss you."

"I'll miss you too." He looked at his sister, "You too, brat." He smiled at Raivyn as she stuck her tongue out at him.

Deela just shook her head and chuckled, She's not going to miss that."

Brandon had been wanting to talk to her about Jack who was scarcely around. "Mom, I've been wanting to ask you something. It's about Jack. He's been a little distant lately. Is everything okay?" He wanted to make sure they were okay.

Deela nodded, "I know. Ever since he's been back, he just isn't the same anymore. All we can do is love him and give him space. He went through a lot including mental torture as well as physical torture."

"I get it." Brandon stuttered a little, hoping his mom didn't get mad at him, "Are you two going to be okay?"

Deela embraced him, "We'll get through it, I promise. I'm just thankful that he came back to us." She sensed he was still a little worried, "I know leaving home for the first time is a little scary. I don't need you worrying about us, okay? We'll be fine."

Raivyn ran over and joined in, making it a group hug. Once it broke up, Raivyn asked, "I'm hungry. Can we have a grilled cheese sandwich and some chips? I'm starving."

"Sure thing." Deela replicated three sandwiches and chips and they sat at the table and ate.

Raivyn looked over at her mother, "Mom, would you like to join us for a game or do you have to go back to work?"

Deela smiled, "I do have to go back but one game won't hurt."

Raivyn practically danced in her chair, "Cool beans!"

Deela couldn't help but laugh.

After they were done playing, Deela looked at both of her kids and smiled. She was proud of Brandon going off to the academy. Raivyn, knowing that her brother was leaving, she was taking it very well.

Brandon looked at his mom and smiled back, "You probably get back to your job."

"I should." Deela walked towards the door, "Tomorrow, we'll spend the whole day together. And then, I'll help you pack."

"Thanks mom because I have no idea what to pack."

Deela laughed, "That is okay. I know." Deela walked out and made her way back to OPS.
