Seeing Ghosts

Mission: Episode 117 - "Returning to the Mirror"
Location: Promenade
Timeline: MD2

After the meal with Admiral Deela, Deezel left the Bajoran cafe. She headed back towards a set of Turbolifts so she could return to the main engineer complex. As she turned a corner she caught the glimpse of someone in an outfit very similar to one worn by Raekwon Vox. She had a bit of time to spare and was somewhat curious as to where they got the outfit as it was a gift given to Rae by colleague of his in the antiquities business.

She followed the person, keeping her distance for the time being. They stopped briefly and turned as if to double back. Deezell moved over to a side corridor. She had a strange feeling about this person and somehow avoiding eye contact seemed a good idea.

They did indeed double back as Dee suspected. As they passed the entrance to the corridor where Dee had sneaked into, they paused to look down the corridor. Dee was off to one side out of sight but she got a clear look at them, before they moved on. She moved out to the edge of the corridor to watch as they headed out of view.

She tapped her combadge.

=^= Lieutenant Vox to Fleet Admiral Bremer. I have just seen someone on the station who should not be here unless I saw a ghost. =^=


Mike had just entered the turbolift on Level 98 when his commbadge beeped. Mike double tapped his badge to open the channel and secure it so no one could eavesdrop. "Report Lieutenant." Mike took the moment to also reroute the lift to Level 1900 where Vox was.

=^=Sir I've just seen Raekwon on the station. Unless I'm seeing ghosts, he can't be from our reality.=^=

Mike didn't reply, he kept the channel open until he reached Level 1900. He cautiously exited the turbolift. Seeing no one, he used his commbadge's holo-PADD to locate Vox based on her commbadge's location, then deactivated the holo-emitter.

As he looked down the corridor, he simply said "Lieutenant" and waited as he kept look down the corridors. Once Deezell stepped out of the shadows, he questioned her.

"Are you sure it was Raekwon?" It seemed a silly question on the surface, but wanted to know exactly what Deezell saw.

"I'm pretty sure it was him. He was wearing a very distinctive suit. A former associate Raekwon's had the suit made as a gift. So the odds of someone else having the same suit is rather low and I got a good look at his face. It was Raekwon. How is this possible sir? " she asked looking clearly worried.

Mike looked around for a moment, "I believe you. I've seen a few strange things tonight too."

Right then Mike saw a shadow move down the corridor. Mike moved Deezell back and raised his phaser. As the figure rounded the corner Mike took aim.

"Stand down, don't move!" Mike ordered.

"Hold..it's Roebuck!"

"Drop your weapon!" Mike ordered.

Roebuck slow knelt down and lowered his phaser. "I'm setting my weapon down."

"What are you doing down here?" Mike asked.

"Lieutenant Xalanth sent me to patrol the area until Colonel Lennox can send a Marine team down here. He said he'd spoken to you earlier about some security anomalies." Roebuck explained.

"Prove you're you." Mike asked.

Roebuck looked up, puzzled, then replied. "Christmas a couple of years ago, when Q screwed with timeline and ships from all over the timeline appeared, I was able to meet one of my ancestors what once commanded the Constitution class Pegasus. He gave me small gift and I showed it to you."

Mike lowered his phaser, "A classic Type 2c-1 phaser, the only one you didn't have in your collection."

Roebuck picked up his phaser and smirked. "Correct."

Mike let out a breath. "We're getting multiple reports of crewmembers in two places at once, or crewmembers that were recently transferred or even killed walking around. Lieutenant Vox here just saw her previous host, Raekown walk by. To make matters worse, someone attacked Lieutenant Ballard in the Brig and freed the Mirror Universe duplicates of myself and Commodore Pike."

"Agents from the Mirror Universe?" Roebuck asked.

"I don't know for certain." Mike replied. "I was tracking my Mirror Universe duplicate when I received Vox's comm so I came here.

"I'll remain down here until the Marines arrive." Roebuck replied.

Mike nodded, then gave a reassuring nod to Vox as he turned to the turbolift.

"What do you want me to do if we find 'Raekwon'?

"Stun him and question him. Use whatever means necessary." Mike replied as the doors to the turbolift closed.

After the Admiral had left, Vox turned towards Roebuck. "Can I be if any help or should I continue to Engineering Central?" She asked.

"I'll escort you down to Level 2000, no one should be roaming the corridors alone right now." Roebuck replied.

"Thank you." Dee smiled. She turned and headed towards the appropriate turbolift that would get her close to Central Engineering when it arrived.
