Mission:
Episode 114 - A Time and Place for Everything
Location: Operations
Timeline: MD1-1115hrs
ON:
Coleman was working tireless around the clock to check on the various ships and where they were from. At the moment, over 30 starships were coming in and hailing from different timeframes throughout UFP and UE history. Not only that, but there were several starships that had the same name, but came from different timelines, such as the Intrepid-Class USS Voyager with an unknown type of Starship with the same name.
As he was working on cataloguing the various ships and their registry numbers, Archer said called over from the Ops station, "Commander Coleman, you're getting an incoming hail from one of the Starships. It's the captain of the USS Voyager, NCC-74656-B from the 26th century and they're saying that their Chief Medical Officer...Dr Elizabeth Coleman....wants to speak with you. She's saying that she's onboard with your brother, Jonathan."
Coleman looked over at Archer and asked him to verify the data. Archer's fingers ran across the console to check the validity of the data, which was verified. Coleman asked Archer to send the comm over to his station at Science One as he turned back around to see the symbol for the United Federation of Planets come across the screen, replaced by the picture of Coleman's mother and brother, Jonathan.
Coleman looked at them both confused as his mother put her hands up in the air before saying, "Don't ask about the future. You know the temporal prime directive as much as Jonathan and I do. It's beyond good to see you. Do you know what's going on? We're reading several starships from various periods in time and we're wondering if it has to do anything with the Temporal Cold War? Do we have anything to worry about?"
Coleman just sat there in awe for a moment before saying, "I don't know. I don't think it is, but we'll have to reach out to Captain Archer onboard the NX-01. I think I saw his ship out there with NX-02 Columbia. It's just something that I think started happening through a fissure or something? I don't entirely have all the data yet. But...it's good to see you too mom. You're the Chief Medical Officer onboard Voyager? I thought you retired all those years ago from the USS Kirk back in the 2350?"
Dr Coleman simply smiled before answering back, taking a moment to think about the past and how she ended up back in the medical field onboard a starship without giving up too much future information. Once she thought about it enough, she replied, "Well, it's complicated. You know how they can't keep a good doctor down. The medical facilities were top notch and they made me the Chief of Neurology and Neurosurgery onboard because this Voyager was just that awesome. We were taking your brother back to DS21 before we got sucked back into the past for his posting as the Chief Engineer. God, there's just so much that we want to tell you, but we can't tell you quite yet. Would you want to meet for something to eat if they don't take us back to the future soon? Maybe meet up in about an hour? If that's aloud, of course. We can catch up the best that we can!"
Coleman simply smiled and said, "Yeah, I would love that. We can go to one of the new restaurants on the promenade and get something Klingon maybe? Get some live food?"
Dr Coleman smiled and said, "I would love that. Or, we could even get something Bajoran. I've been craving those spicy things in the wheat shells. I can't even remember the name right now, but they're so delicious! We'll beam over in the next few minutes and see what we can't do. We'll see you here in a little bit my darling son."
With that, the comm channel closed up and Nick was sitting there with a rather stunned expression on his face. What was going on with this universe? All Nick could do for a moment was chuckle before tapping his combadge and saying, "Coleman to K'Lar and Vashir. Mind meeting me in the Temporal Mechanics lab? We've got a lot of work to do."
With that, Coleman got up and headed down to get his Assistant Chief and Genetics Officers working on something before....meeting his mother and brother from the future.
