Episode 114 - A Time and Place for Everything
Location: Promenade followed by Dee's Quarters, Starbase 400
Timeline: MD-1 Evening.
K'Lara had gone for a casual but eye-catching look this evening: an off-white tube top that hugged her chest and left her belly bare, ripped blue jeans, white sneakers and a silver Magna Roman necklace that gleamed against the tan of her chest. She'd let her hair down such that it cascaded down her shoulders in a waterfall of chestnut brown.
She'd positioned herself against a pillar, PADD in hand, glancing up from it so often hoping to spot her date for the night and ignoring the prying eyes of the occasional passerby. Her look was for Dee, and Dee only - and speaking of Dee she wondered where the Trill was, and what she'd show up in.
Dee left her quarters, she was running late for her date with K'Lara. She spent way too long choosing what to wear. She eventually went for a figure hugging two piece leggings bottom and long sleeved top, both of which were a dark shade of purple . To compliment the outfit she was wearing her favourite earrings which were made of three purple gemstones going in increasing size from top to bottom and were set in a dark silver metal. She finally arrived and could see K'Lara leaning against a pillar waiting for her.
The first thought that crossed K'Lara's mind as she looked up from her PADD was the Magna Roman equivalent of 'ooh, la la' - except somewhat more passionate in its meaning. Now this wasn't something she expected of the Trill she'd only just met yesterday - perhaps she had some boldness under that shell of hers! Well, obviously she did, wearing something like this and in this color to boot.
K'Lara came to her instead, walking across the busy hallway and slipping her arms around the shorter girl's hips. "Either you're extremely lucky, or you have sources that know me quite well." She remarked, pressing her lips to the Trill's forehead, "Because I simply love purple. It looks good on you. Very good." K'Lara smirked, and gave her an almost Klingon-like playful trilling growl. "Good enough to eat..."
She was merely joking, of course - though some part of her was quite certain that somehow, Vox would get the joke. Surely centuries of experience with life would give her that knowledge, right?
"Okay you caught me. I did do a bit of research from some of your colleagues and found out about you liked purple, which incidentally " she leaned in to whisper in her ear. "Is the colour of my underwear.. I had to replicate that specially as I normally wear black. As for looking good enough to eat, you might get a taste so long as you don't try to spit roast me." she said grinning.
K'Lara snorted and clicked her tongue in mock disappointment. "Talking dirty on the first date? Already, miss Vox? Looks like someone's eager to move things along, isn't she~?" She took a half step back and did a little turn round for her, giving the Trill a good look at her outfit. "You like?"
She liked the boldness this Trill was showing her. Where had this been yesterday, when she'd been so meek and unsure of herself? She liked this Dee. The Dee that wasn't scared to be playful when she wanted to be - not that the one she'd met at first was any less pleasant to be around.
Dee pouted. "I was trying to be more assertive and bolder as I didn't think you would want the meek and timid way I usually am. " She said diverting her eyes from K'Lara. "Now I feel foolish." she said.
"On the contrary." K'Lara gently took hold of her face and turned it back towards her, so that they could gaze into each other's eyes. "I would want you either way - but I simply love this new you." Her thumb began to lightly stroke the gentle curve of her jawline. "Keep this newfound confidence of yours. It'll take you far, well beyond courting me. You're a department head to be, aren't you? It'll help you there, too..."
"But why discuss work when this time is dedicated to us, and us only? Come. We have an entire evening to spend." K'Lara smirked. "Now. With that newfound confidence of yours - how do you find my outfit? Be absolutely candid."
"I love it. It suits you so well and accentuates your beautiful figure. Love the jewelry as well. " Dee replied " Do you like my earrings? They were a 21st birthday present. " She added.
"They're lovely. Are they amethyst stone?" She asked, reaching out to touch the gleaming purple gems before withdrawing her hand. "I am simply in love with the color of them - did you know that purple is the color of royalty?" K'Lara grinned. "Which you certainly look like to me. Back home my people would look at you and wonder if you were perhaps a Senator's daughter."
"Well! My lovely amethyst queen. Shall we? The evening is young!" She announced, gesturing out over the busy promenade. K'Lara held out a hand for her to take.
Dee takes her hand. "What do you fancy eating tonight? I would like to try Bolian but there is a small issue about doing so. The only Bolian restaurant is where my, I mean my last host, Raekwon, had his Gallery. I have only been there once to do some repairs before it became the restaurant and I made sure I didn't stay any longer than I had to. Just being there makes me think about the accident on the ship and Raekwon's death. A drawback of joining is you remember the moments up till the death of the host. " Dee explained.
K'Lara squeezed her hand in support. Joining was evidently not all it was cracked up to be - as was the case with any seemingly overwhelming benefit of any kind. There were always words between the lines, the fine print if you will, which you also needed to read.
"Then we shall not have Bolian cuisine tonight. Tonight I'm in the mood for that homely new grill that just opened a few days ago - the grapevine says that it serves steak that's to die for." She suggested. "How about it? When in doubt, pick something neutral but delicious. I've found that such an approach usually works when dining with a friend... or in your case a significant other."
"Ok, but I can't avoid the Bolian restaurant forever. They say they do a soup that is blue and tastes amazing, but I love a good steak, medium rare of course. Lead the way. "Dee replied.,
K'Lara was happy to lead her date on through the crowd with their fingers laced together. "Of course you can't - but when you go back to it and earn the closure you need, I am more than willing to be by your side for support if you need it." She assured her firmly. "For tonight, we make merry and leave those troubles behind, yes? I have no wish to ruin our date."
Surprise, surprise. The restaurant was already packed when the couple arrived at the door - which was unsurprising, given the affordability and quality of its fare. "I should have reserved us a seat." K'Lara grumbled as they waited to be seated - thankfully only the second group in the waiting line. "Minerva herself would be disappointed to know that I did not plan ahead for an event like this..."
Dee could smell the steak in the air. "That smells amazing. I do hope we can get a table. That smell alone is making me hungry. " she said rubbing her grumbling bare tummy,
"I agree. It smells good, doesn't it?" She agreed, casting her gaze to the maitre'd in front of them, who'd only just let in the group in front of them. Her hands found their way to Vox's bare stomach and settled on her hips. "Well, tell me. Did you pick this style of outfit in particular knowing that I'd like it? That it'd draw my eyes to you, and make sure they stay?" K'Lara wore a cheeky smile.
"Well, when I learnt that you like purple, I realised that I only had my gym outfit that was purple so I had to come up with something. In my wardrobe I have an outfit that is almost identical to this one but it has a dress instead of trousers. I only went with trousers because I banged my leg on the side of a table in my quarters and I have a small bruise and didn't have time to visit sickbay. So you can't see my legs tonight. " Dee explained.
"I would've loved to see you in either - regardless of whether you had a bruise or not." She said gently. "I myself am not entirely free of blemish." She showed Dee her left arm. The skin there was smooth, but on closer inspection there were clearly the remnants of bruises and scars upon it. "Fighting in the arena can only lead to such marks upon one's body." She explained.
The maitre'd let them in just then, and led them over to a relatively quiet booth made to sit three - perfect for just the pair of them. "Well. This is lovely." She remarked. "I think they know we're not just friends now, hmm?"
"Is there gossip about us already?" Dee enquired. "And yes this is comfy. I do prefer a booth if one is available. " She paused for a moment. " Speaking of bruises. You should have seen the one I got a few weeks ago falling out of Jeffries Tube. Big bruise on my butt. I'm not sure what was worse, getting the bruise or the young nurse using a dermal regenerator on my butt." She added smirking.
"It's obvious enough to anyone what we are just looking at us in line." K'Lara chortled. "I'm sure it must've been quite embarrassing - though I can't say she wasn't treated to a pleasant sight of her own." The Klingon hybrid smirked and decided to leave the topic there for the time being to pick up the menu and browse through it on the provided PADD. "I think I'll have a sirloin steak with... a fall salad and fries. How about you?"
"Hmmmm" she exclaimed " I think I will try the Ribeye also with the fall salad and potato wedges." Dee replied. "What should we have to drink? I wonder if they have anything from my homeworld."
K'Lara smirked and tapped a side option on the menu, changing the display to a list of items from the Trill homeworld - most notably klavaz steak. "It says here it's one of their best." She said, "Shall I order one for us?"
"Ooooh fantastic, yes please do. Make sure it comes with some Glakno Sauce." Dee commented.
"Of course." K'Lara tapped their orders into the PADD at their table and put it away. "It'll be a few minutes." She leaned across the table, head resting in her hands - and giving Dee a rather nice view of her cleavage and bust. "What would you like to talk about?"
"Not fair. You know I struggle to think when you flaunt your cleavage at me."
K'Lara smirked and shrugged her shoulders. "Come on, now. I'd say the same of you - you're hardly a slouch in that department." She let that thought hang in the air before quipping, "So! What would you like to talk about. Anything at all, my beautiful spotted goddess..."
"Let me see." She said running a finger down her spots from her forehead down to her neck. "Have you met any other Trill's before?"
"A few, on my last assignment. Dated one of them. He was a gentleman, if a bit easily distracted by his work." She said with a smile. "He was a nurse, in fact. I wonder what exactly about his work kept distracting him, to be honest. How about you. I suspect you've never quite met anyone like me before, have you?"
"Definitely not, no. It's what makes you so alluring and enticing. I really liked your quarters so maybe you could visit mine and maybe help improve them?"
"We could most certainly do that! Though I ought to warn you that I really am no expert when it comes to decoration." Yes, as nice as her quarters were, K'Lara really was no expert - all she'd done was put up things she thought looked nice.
"Alluring, you say?" She leaned in closer with a coy smile. "Care to elaborate on that?"
"Well....your very beautiful and also a very interesting person, fascinating you might say. Can't wait to get to know you better. As for my quarters, any help would be appreciated. "
"I can't wait to get to know you better, too. My lovely leopard spotted beauty." K'Lara winked and had just begun to lean in for a kiss when a waiter arrived with their food. Awww. "Thank you," She smiled sweetly at the waiter who set down their meals and left quickly.
"Food first, kisses later." She decided, picking up her fork and knife. "How about it? We have all evening."
"Of course we do. Let's eat." Dee replied.
K'Lara smiled and dug into her steak, cutting into it with practised grace and ease. Part of her wanted to know what klavaz steak tasted like - was it gamey, perhaps, or tough? Or perhaps it would be the most delicious, perfectly textured steak she'd ever tasted. She'd have to wait to find out, she supposed. Until then, she was content to work her way through her good old beef steak, savoring the taste and the perfect juicy medium rare cook on it. The chef had done his job well.
"What're you looking for out of tonight? Merely curious," She said, "And I don't just mean getting to know me. The promenade is a rather large place after all, with so many shops."
"I haven't really had a good browse of the shops yet so that would be good." Dee commented.
"I'm thinking of acquiring a new outfit." She remarked. "What colors do you like?"
"Well, I do like purple but also shades of blue and green. " Dee commented as she tucked into her food.
"Purple, you say? The same color I simply can't get enough of!?" K'Lara beamed. "Well then! I suppose it's settled - something purple for me, and something else purple for you if you'd like. How about it?"
"Okay I'm game. Not sure what I might get though. " Deezell replied
"Then we shall simply window shop, as our human colleagues call it, and see what that brings us." She declared. "Intent can be conceived on the spot, they teach us security officers. That applies to our work, and life itself as well. You, my lovely, need not worry about that in the here and now. For now, let us both have our dinner and revel in each others' presence." K'Lara smirked and resumed her meal.
"Okay, prepare to revel in watching me fill my face." She replied eating her salad.
K'Lara merely smiled and returned to her dinner. "I can revel in my thoughts of what you'd look good in." She teased lightly. "Apart from this lovely outfit you have on now. In my opinion you might benefit from something sleeveless. What do you think?"
"How about you choose my new outfit. That way I look heavenly. " Dee replied.
K'Lara's warm brown eyes wandered the Trill's curvy form, half admiring and half assessing. "Deal." She decided. "As I shall for you. That way we shall both look heavenly, as you so elegantly put it. Alright?"
"Just make sure it's tasteful and not too revealing. I don't want to be escorted away by security for indecent exposure." She laughed.
K'Lara batted her eyelashes at her date. "Miss Vox, you wound me by assuming that I wouldn't think of that. Second of all, I *am* a security officer. Even if I did haul you away it wouldn't be for indecent exposure, and we wouldn't be headed to a questioning room." There was a coy gleam in her eyes as she said that. "Trust me, you"d like where we go very much indeed..."
"Promises promises. Do try to behave as I might let you count my spots later."
K'Lara feigned indignance, lifting a hand to her breast and staring in feigned shock at the Trill. "Goodness gracious. Yet again you wound me, Deezell Vox, for assuming that won't! But of course I will. Who'd I be to say no to such an offer?" The hybrid smirked, a mischievous smile dancing its way across her lips. "Every single one of them? Including those which I know go all the way down?"
Dee leaned over the table, getting as close as she could to K'Lara. Staring straight into her eyes ..."Every...... Single.....One and they all go all the way down. "
K'Lara held her gaze, dinner momentarily forgotten. The two women's faces were mere inches apart just then - all she'd need to do was lean in a smidge closer . "Of course they do. I'll make sure not to miss a single one." K'Lara was practically purring huskily by now, elongating her words where necessary to make them sound even sexier. The hybrid leaned forward, giving the Trill the faintest feather light brush of her lips against hers... and pulled away; leaving a lingering note of perfectly seared beef. "But only after we've chosen our outfits, of course."
"Of course. " Dee was very much enjoying her steak and salad. Quite filling for such a petite young woman.
K'Lara did not seem to care. She'd long learned not to judge others' choice of meal, after all. The two would spend a little while more eating and talking merrily, and before either woman knew it their plates were empty. "Well. Shall we go?" K'Lara stood and tapped on the PADD at their table, footing the entire blll.
"Yep. Let's get going. " Dee replied as she started to slide her way out of the booth they were in.
K'Lara followed at her side, taking the Trill's hand into her hand and lacing their fingers together as they left the restaurant together. "Are the hands of all Trill so... cold?" She asked, curious. "Yours aren't quite as cold, but still less warm than most hands I've held."
"Trill body temperature is slightly lower than human body temperature. You could always warm me up you know. I'm sure you can do that." She replied winking at her.
K'Lara took the briefest of moments to blink in surprise at the Trill's racy comment before breaking out in peals of amused laughter. "Oh, you naughty girl." The hybrid laughed amd leaned in close as they began to traverse the promenade togrther. "Of course I can - which I might do if you keep being this new, more confident, more assertive you." To drive her point home she gave Dee a little nibble on the ear before pulling away and resuming the journey as if nothing had happened.
"There's a jumja stick stand just round the corner if you want one."
"Sounds good. Not had one for a while. "
K'Lara smiled and walked on, taking them to said stand run by a middle-aged Bajoran couple. "Which flavor would you like?" She asked her date. "They've got nearly everything..."
"I don't know. Pick one. I'm sure I will enjoy it. " Dee suggested
K'Lara decided to go for the universally loved option. "Two chocolate jumja sticks." She requested from the couple, who smiled at her and puttered off to fetch the frozen treats for her. "You'll want to keep coming back. I certainly do." She smiled at her date as the two frozen treats were handed over to her.
"Here." She held one out to Vox.
"Thanks. " Dee replied taking the jumja stick. She stood there slowly licking and sucking in the chocolate sweet treat.
K'Lara took her by the hand and led her to a nearby bench, upon which she would sit next to her, enjoying her dessert in comfortable silence while watching the crowd go by.
"Mmm this is great. Although, this naughty chocolate is going to end up going somewhere. Question is, will it end up adding fat to my hips or my butt." Deezell said laughing.
"Why would you bother? Indulge yourself - so long as you eat it in moderation of course." K'Lara smirked and wrapped an arm around her hips as they resumed their walk down the promenade. "Though if it adds on to you I believe it'll only lend to your looks."
"Yeah, you're right, everything in moderation but it tastes so good. So, where she we go for some new outfits and what sort of outfits are we actually looking for? Formal, casual, sleep wear?" " Dee commented.
"That depends on you, of course." She responded. "I for one want a new casual outfit - and possibly sleepwear as well. How about you?"
"The same. But my urgency is on the sleepwear. I currently don't have any as I managed to badly stain them. I was having a drink of a fruit juice from my home world which, although has many health benefits, it can ruin anything light coloured if enough of it gets on them. So currently I am sleeping au naturale."
"You realize the replicator can replicate sleepwear if you want, right?" K'Lara burst into laughter and squeezed her date. "So you sleep nude nowadays, hm?" A mischievous smile danced its way across her lips. "Never mind. I think I know just what to find you - assuming the promenade has it, of course...'
"Not looking for anything fancy just nice and comfortable. I would rather have sleepwear because if someone comes to your quarters unexpectedly I have to scramble for my dressing gown before releasing the door. "
"Who said anything about fancy? I know a few options that are quite simple yet functional - while lending the wearer a little more... appeal." K'Lara's warm brown eyes seemed to gleam with mischief for a moment. "You'll look good sampling them. Trust me..."
"Then lets hop too it. Oh by the way, I have a busy schedule tomorrow so I will let you know if I am free and when. Got a lot of diagnostics to run and maintenance on major systems. "
"Then we'll just have to make full use of tonight." K'Lara declared with a grin. "Though expect me to text you over your PADD, making sure that you're taking care of yourself..."
"I will make sure I take my regular breaks. I am pretty much going to be visiting all over the station, top to bottom."
"You better take your breaks. If I find out that you aren't I'll use the station's computer to find you and force you to take one." K'Lara declared. "You're no good to anyone overworked and exhausted out of your mind - but I'm sure you know that. Take care of yourself. It's all i ask for."
"Of course I will. I have it all planned out. No worries."
K'Lara smirked and walked on with her, the beginnings of a plan already forming in her head...
It would be a few hours later when then the two women finally completed their shopping spree, at which point they would retire to Deezell's quarters for the night.
"Mmm. I think I'm set for clothes for a while..." K'Lara yawned and stretched, sticking out her ample bust...
"Hmm, looks like I have extra pillows for tonight then." she said smirking. " Sorry for the mess by the way. I lost something and had a good go at finding it but its still missing." Dee added.
K'Lara's smile instantly morphed into a devious smirk. Score. "Extra pillows you'll have, alright. The question is which set you'd like to sleep on," She teased, putting her arms around her hips and smiling down at her. "Which'll it be?"
"Yours, obviously. " She smiled. "Do you fancy trying a small sip of a liqueur from Trill?" she asked.
"Of course. I'd like to." K'Lara smirked. "Perhaps you'd like to change out into something more comfortable first?"
"Sure, hand me the sleepwear you got me and I will go change into it. "
K'Lara handed her her sleepwear, neatly folded, and smiled. "I'll be waiting - but don't keep me waiting too long." She teased.
Dee took the sleepwear and headed into her bedroom, its doors closing behind her. She got out of the clothes she had on from their night out plus her underwear and then put on the sleepwear. The outfit consisted of a pair of light purple shorts with a slight frill around the edges around the legs, and matching purple, short sleeved top with frills around the arm holes. She looked in the mirror and was delighted with how she looked. The doors of her bedroom opened as she stepped back out into the main area of her quarters and walked over to K'Lara who was sat waiting.
K'Lara smirked as she admired the Trill's new look. "Sexy." She commented, "Like I said you would be. My turn." The Klingon hybrid slipped into the bedroom, changed and re-emerged in a simple purple sleeveless top that accentuated her bust so along with a purple miniskirt of sorts that showed off her toned, muscular legs. "How do I look?" She purred, stretching for Deezell.
"You look amazing. Wow you have really toned and muscular legs."
"You bet I do." K'Laea smirked and flexed her arms for her, then took her by the waist and leaned in for a kiss.
Dee leaned towards K'Lara and met her lips. They passionately missed for a couple of minutes. Dee broke the connection. " I can still taste that strawberry ice-cream you had for dessert. Lush. "
"It was good, wasn't it?" The hybrid was grinning as pulled away from the kiss. "Though there's still one thing I still have yet to try tonight..."
"Oh, and what's that?" Dee replied with a look of curiosity.
Grinning widely K'Lora leaned in and whispered in the Trill's ear...
Dee's face went beet red. " Naughty, so naughty. Well really. " She said smirking.
"I don't see you protesting." K'Lara couldn't keep the salacious grin off her lips any longer. "Since we won't be seeing each other for some time, I might as well give you something that'll stick in your mind, right?"
"Why would I protest?. Absolutely. You are always in my thoughts every day but something special is always welcome." Dee replied. She smiled as a cheeky idea came into her head. She pondered it for a second and then decided to throw caution to the wind. She took off her pajama top and threw it to K'Lara.
Smirking K'Lara caught it mid air while admiring the sight that was Deezell's nude upper body - yes, completely nude. "Has anyone told you just how tasty you look?" She tossed the garment aside and stalked towards her date with a provocative sway to her gait. "Now I'll just have to pounce on you and get a taste...."
"No, only you have told me that." She said with her hands together behind her back. "Be gentle." Dee replied.
"I make no promises." K'Lara then proceeded to make good on her other promise - by pouncing on the Trill, and ordering the lights lowered. The night wasn't going to end anytime soon...
