Episode 112 - A Trip to Remember
Location: Vacant Shop (Formerly The Serenity Gallery)

The promenade was quite busy this early in the morning as Deezell made her way towards the vacant shop that was once the Serenity Gallery, owned by Vox's previous host, Raekwon.
On arrival she tapped in the code to unlock the seal on the doors. Once unlocked she pushed the doors apart. Stepping inside, "Computer, lights" she commanded. The lights came on and in that brief moment of change from darkness to normal lighting she had a flash of memory and was stood in the Serenity Gallery with artwork, sculptures and other items all around her.
She blinked and rubbed her eyes and when her vision cleared she saw an empty shop with a large cloth draped over a desk and chair at the far end next to the doorway into the storage area and where she would find the power taps that needed refitting to allow for additional points for the new owners.
She entered the back store room, opened her tool kit and set to work. Her first task was to refit the existing systems at the back of the shop unit and upload the latest software updates and safety protocols. Once done she could then go about locating where the new owners wanted the extra power access points in the shop front and connect them up. She had a lot to do and had estimated it could take her at least two hours. She got to work.
" Lower any weapon you have," an old man's voice demanded as Korel entered the shop.
Deezell put down her tools when she heard the voice of the old man. His voice was familiar. She carefully poked her head around the open door of the store room and into the main body of the shop.
"I don't have a weapon. I'm an engineer." She advised. She smiled. "Hello Korel, how's business? " She asked.
" Business is fine. Why have you entered my associates business?" Korel questioned. Joined by a very large Caitian named H'rall the intruder was out gunned.
"I have been assigned to refit the power taps in these premises as the thew owners require additional outlet points before they move in next week. " She paused. She held out her hand to Korel, noticing the intimidatingly large Caitian, "I am Ensign Vox, Deezell Vox. "
" Vox? A relative? A Star Fleet engineer to boot?" Korel asked with confusion.
"Not quite. Raekwon was my previous host, I am the new host of the Vox symbiont. Raekwon tragically died in an accident aboard his ship on route to the Trill Homeworld. So I have his memories along with Lerani, Azrel, Torbin and Jorran. " she explained.
" Raekwon was Trill Korel," H'rall explained.
" You allowed a sentient worm to be put in your body? I owed Raekwon three gold bars of platinum for my shop. My last payment. Do I need to pay you now?" Korel replied.
"Yes I did. The Trill are a symbiotic species. Not all Trill are fortunate to be joined with a symbiont as there is simply is not enough for the whole population. As for the three gold bars, you probably need to contact the Trill Homeworld world and speak to Raekwon's family as the three bars are probably part of his estate. " Deezell explained.
Korel looked to H'rall and winked, " Yeah we'll do that. You are young to be an Ensign "
"Yes but with the combined knowledge, memories and experiences of five lifetimes totalling over 400 years. " Deezell replied.
" The symbiont is very resilient. How did my old friend die? " Korel asked.
"On route to the Trill Homeworld, his ship collided with a quantum filament causing catastrophic damage to his ship and severely injuring him in the process. He was rescued by a Federation starship, the one I was on in fact, but died of his injuries. The symbiont's health started to deteriorate as they tried to take it back to Trill for a new host. So being the only Trill onboard I had to step forward and join with Vox to ensure the symbiont's survival. "
" Do you want to keep the symbiont?" H'rall asked Vox.
"Once a host and symbiont have been joined for 96 hours, they are interdependent on each other and separating either would kill both within hours. Trills are obligated to protect the life of the symbiont and so I am now Vox.
" Well Vox you say you are an engineer? When you're not on duty I could use a good engineer for my ship the Roane, a cruiser. " Korel offered
"I would be happy to, Korel. I am also a Propulsion Specialist. I was at the top of my class in propulsion theory and mechanics at the academy. When I come off duty I will visit your business. " Deezell replied, running her fingers through her strawberry blonde hair.
" Well the pay is off and on but it's steady work. " Korel added.
"You don't need to pay me Korel. I'm more than happy to help. " Deezell replied.
" Even better, but in honor of Raekwon who saved my business, you will be paid fairly." Korel replied .
"He did didn't he. Fair enough. A little extra latinum is always good. " Deezell replied.
" Chief Engineer of the Roane, welcome to our little rogue group" Korel replied.
Deezell smiled. "I ought to get back to work here. This unit needs to be ready for the new owners arrival next week." She added.
" Who is the new owner Vox?"
Deezell picked up her padd. "A. Zorellna and G. Tormeno. Business name 'A Bowl Full From Bolias' restaurant." She added.
" Bolians? That should be interesting. It is good to meet you again Vox."
H'rall exited first and Korel then followed.
