Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: Moments after the Essex arrived

Mike was there to greet T`Lar when the USS Essex docked. He wanted the new Intrepid class vessel ease into her berth and dock. While is was a simple maneuver, it was preformed well.

As the hatch opened, Mike saw T`Lar and two other officers. He stepped
forward, "Welcome to Starbase 400."

"Thank you. I'm glad to be here. May I introduce to you two of my officers.
This is Lieutenant Lokran, my Chief of Security and Commander Clifford, my
Executive officer." Both gave a small nod as they were introduced.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both." Mike looked back to T`Lar. "Come with me to my Office, we have a few things to discuss." His tone was serious, but not harsh. It was clear the Admiral needed to talk business, but it wasn't anything `bad`.

"By all means." She turned to her accompanying officers, "I'll meet up with
the both of you later. Enjoy yourselves." T'Lar turned back to Bremer and
followed him, not sensing any urgency.

A few minutes later, Admiral Bremer and Vice Admiral T`Lar stepped out of
the turbolife and into Ops. "Pretty quiet in here today." Mike commented.

She glanced around, "I see that."

As they entered Mike's Office he motioned for T`Lar to have a seat. "Care
for anything to drink?"

"Hot Keemun tea with milk and sugar." Harrison, when she served on the Essex under T'Lar, had introduced her to that specific tea from China.

Bremer ordered T'Lar's drink and his raktijno from the food slot, then
brought her's to her. "So, I have a business proposition for you." He
flashed a smile.

T'Lar raised an eyebrow, "Hmm, a proposition." She took a sip of her hot
tea, "Okay, I'm intrigued. What's your proposition?" She slightly cocked her
head to one side as she looked up at him.

Mike took his seat, his tone became serious again. "Janice retired. I'm sure
she'll explain it to you more when you see her, but I'm needing a new XO
aboard Starbase 400. I've discussed it with her and Starfleet Command, and I'd like to offer the job to you. I need a strong `Number One` aboard the Station, as well as an experienced CO that can command a ship either on assignment or within a Task Force. Of course, you'll keep your flag aboard the Essex too." He took a sip of his Klingon coffee.

"Well, that certainly is a surprise. I didn't see that coming." She
considered it for a brief moment. "And I get to keep my ship AND my crew?"

"Of course, who you assign to your ship as Senior Officers and crew is your discretion. As a matter of fact I have a few openings within the Station's crew itself that I believe a few of your Senior Officers will be able to fill." Mike picked up a PADD from his desk.

"I'd be a fool not to take your offer, now wouldn't I?" She paused for
another sip of her tea, "I accept. It looks like you have yourself a new
Executive Officer."

Mike smiled. "Excellent." He looked at the PADD he'd picked up a moment before. "I'd also like to extend offers to the following members of your Senior Staff to take on position aboard the Starbase as well. Commander Clifford as your Chief of Staff and CO of the USS Constantinople as needed, Lieutenant Commander Lokran as Chief of Security, Lieutenant Commander King as CMO and Lieutenant Commander Brislan as her Assistant CMO, and Captain Hurd as First Marine Division XO with a promotion to Major." He paused for a moment.

"I know this will be added duties and responsibilities for them all, but these are currently vacant position aboard the Starbase 400 Command Staff that I also need filled. Of course, they would be able to serve aboard the Essex as you need, or even possibly aboard another of the Station's Ships as needed." He handed T`Lar the PADD.

She took it and glanced at its contents as he spoke.

"We have a lot going on. Colonies along the Romulan border threatening to seceded from the Federation, Pirate activity within The Triangle heating up, and the Romulans getting more aggressive...I need experienced officers I can count on." Bremer's expression and tone were very serious.

"You certainly do have your hands full. As for my crew, they are very experienced and I think you will be pleased with their performances. They haven't disappointed me yet. I would trust them with my life."

Mike nodded, "Exactly what I hoped to hear." He smiled as he stood up, "Then, Number One, your first job aboard Starbase 400 is to offer them the positions."

"That's easy. They'll accept especially knowing that I will be staying. They are very loyal" she said with confidence.

"Excellent. I'll make the proper changes to the Station's Crew Roster and ship manifest." He extended a hand, "It's good to have you here."

As the two shook hands, Mike added, "Ops has a list of assigned quarters for you and your crew, go get settled in."

With a nod, T`Lar left for Ops to get her crew and herself settled in. Mike remained in his Officer for a few minutes looking over the latest messages from Starfleet Command before starting on the updates to the manifests.
