Kah’lyn sat alone on the sofa in her quarters, she was grateful to be back on the station after the events of the last battle. The Pegasus was about as close to destruction as it came and the thought of dying out in space made her question a few things.

She sipped her drink before sitting staring into the cup, the motion of the liquid inside was almost hypnotic as her eyes got heavier and heavier and heavier. She didn’t even feel the cup slide out of her hand as she fell asleep.

In her mind she was back with the Romulans, but this vision was different. She was standing in front of the Romulan Commanding Officer, he strolled around her looking her up and down in a very proud manner before he faced her. “Welcome home my daughter ... your mother thought she’d escaped me, taking you with her but I have spent years and no expense locating you and keeping tabs on you.

She stirred slightly but the dream continued.

“You’re in a position that, right now, we can use and as such you will become my eyes and ears aboard your Federation Starbase.” He grinned as he looked at her.

“I will do NOTHING of the sort!!” Kah’lyn stood defiantly looking at the Romulan infront of her.

“Oh but you will” He smiled as he motioned forward one of the Reeman telepaths under his command. “Take her, you know what to do. My true daughter is in that pretty head and we will bring her to the forefront of your mind for you.”

“Commander!” A Romulan Officer stepped forward.

“Ahh just in time. Meet my daughter Kah’lyn, as promised when she returns to us from her assignment within the Federation she shall be yours. A dutiful wife for a Romulan Officer.”

“I will look forward to it Commander” the Officer nodded and smiled as he looked at Kah’lyn.

“I already have someone I love!” Kah’lyn looked at the man claiming to be her father.

“You will forget him for he is not worthy of a daughter of Romulus.” With that he motioned for the Reeman Officer to take her away.

Back in her quarters Kah’lyn awoke to find her mug on the floor fortunately it only had a small amount of drink in it which the station cleaning robots had already cleaned up for her.

Sighing she wondered what it was she was dreaming about, she couldn’t remember any part of it but it left her with a feeling she didn’t like.

Staring out of the viewport she wondered what Croesus was doing right now, they hadn’t seen much of each other in the last couple of weeks. They were both busy and both tired at the end of their shifts but she missed him, she would make a point of calling him and soon.
