Mission:
Episode 93 - Warrior VS Warrior
Location: USS Tiripitz-In Spacedock
Timeline: MD4, 2230 hours
ON:
LTJG Daniel Sullivan crawled down the Jeffries Tube on his hands and knees.
Hundreds of kilometers of wiring had to be laid to provide power to new reactor.
On first inspection the hydroponics lab was found to be unsuitable to house the
new fusion reactor. It was too close to the photon torpedo launcher and the
output would wreck havoc with the targeting sensors on the photon torpedoes
and in the event of a battle the close proximity would make it a valuable target.
Instead the arboretum was voted a better alternative. Before the upgrade could
commence all the plants had to be removed. These were to be stored on the
Starbase until a new location could be found for them. The lighting was changed
from heat lamps to standard lighting. Now Sullivan was running new wiring
which would provide the reactor was power from the warp core. This new reactor
would boost phaser power up to the needed 5% and take some the load off the
reactor. Sullivan had another crew installing an overflow buffer which in
conjuction with the deflector shield would boost the shield rating. This is the kind
of work that Sullivan was most happy doing. This was the reason he joined
Starfleet. For close the six hours his team of specialists have been tearing the
Tiripitz apart and putting the ship back together to get her ready to rejoin the
Admiral's fleet. He crawled out feet first from the Jeffries Tube and attached the
wiring into the side of the reactor which had arrived that morning. He looked at
his assistant, a Chief Petty Officer. "Ok it's showtime". The Chief initialized the
reactor and checked the readings.
"Power levels are rising, 35 percent," he intoned. Sullivan whipped out his
tricorder and began monitoring the process.
"65 percent," the Chief called out.
Sullivan checked the readings again. "Looking good Chief. I think we are in
business".
"100 percent and stablizing".
"Outstanding," he tapped his commbadge "Bridge this is Sullivan".
=/\= Go ahead Lieutenant
=/\= Reactor is installed. Run a test on the phaser output. Should be at 105 percent or better".
=/\= Acknowledged
Sullivan double checked the status board while he waited for the bridge crew to
finish running their test. After a few minutes the reply came back from the
Tactical officer.
=/\= Phaser output is at 107 percent.
=/\=Acknowleged, thank you Commander.
Sullivan smiled at the Chief and sent off a report to the Admiral.
"Alright Chief I am going to check on the deflector shield team. Hold it together here."
"Aye aye Sir".
