Mission: Episode 90 - The Great Relink
Location: Main Engineering
Timeline: MD3 1000hrs

Jack headed back to the Ashalla's docking bay after his meeting with Admiral Bremer and Admiral T'Lar but he detoured via Main Engineering knowing that he needed to meet with the new officer who was now his Assistant Chief Engineer, Lt JG Devin Boone. Getting used to being a department head again wasn't something he would find difficult, but not in the way he'd earned it.

Jack arrived in Engineering and noticed the young officer before him. He approached him to say hello.

"Lieutenant Boone, I'm Lieutenant Commander Jack Solomon. Chief Engineer on board SB400, welcome on board," he said.

The Lieutenant looked up from his PADD and smiled.

"And a whirlwind welcome it has been sir! A few months aboard and already things are changing.” He paused.

“But I like that.”

He said with a calm demeanor. He didn’t want to show too much excitement. That can be annoying.

“I am excited to get started sir. It seems to me we have more to do than time to do it.”

Jack smiled at the young lieutenants enthusiasm. It reminded him of himself a few years ago as he to was making his way through the ranks on the Wildcat. "Thats the way on board 400, theres always plenty to keep to keep you busy..."

In fact it was sheer luck Commander Solomon found him in engineering at all. Devin had been everywhere else more than engineering. Between introductions, meetings, trainings and familiarizing himself with the base, he barely had time for regular duties.

But now, with a new Chief Engineer and new Assistant Chief Engineer, things were going to smooth out. Devine was more determined than ever.

“Orders sir?”

"Get yourself over to the USS Ashalla and lead the Engineering team working on the Starboard Impulse Engine overhaul. I'll head over and catchup with Commander Jaxa."
