"Good morning Lieutenant, I don't believe we've met."

"Good um, Good morning." Said the petite engineer nervously as she stared at the deck, not meeting his eye. "I-It's good to be here sir. It's uh, been a while since I've been on a starship." She had been blushing starlet since she first walked in. She had that tense nervous air of someone who was coiled like a spring in even regular social situations. She clutched a tool kit with white knuckles, and seemed to want to be anywhere but there. "Last time I was one one as a starfleet officer was the USS Odin. I was um, helm officer, um, sir."

K`Temoc could hear the nervous tone in her voice, "At ease Lieutenant, take a deep breath." He smiled. "You're new to Starbase 400, so welcome aboard, and welcome aboard the USS Yorktown. I'm Captain K`Temoc, CO of the Yorktown and the station's Training Officer. And you are?"

"Lieutenant JG Trisha Lee. T-Thank you. I um, appreciate it. I'm kinda better in a science lab than, you know, other things. This ship is a Defiant class. Has it been modified at all?"

K`Temoc nodded, "Engines, computer systems, sensors, comm systems, life support is all standard. She does carry a limited number of Hellfire torpedoes as well as MLSS shielding." He paused a moment, "How do her engines look to you?"

She brightened immediately as she went over to the engineering console and brought it out of standby. "Bussard uptake assemblies, field manipulation coils, power conditioner assembly and -Oohh especially the warp capacitor coils are all in optimum range. Above optimum really... Wow. Your Chief Engineer must be a master. I'm really impressed." She said, relaxing visibly now that she was in her element. "Ninty-percent efficiency is considered good, but you're at ninety-six."

K`Temoc smiled, he hadn't mentioned the Yorktown used to be SB400's R&D vessel, he wanted her to see for herself. "She is a beauty, and I'm sure you'll keep her in fine shape on our way to Earth and back."

K'Temoc then walked back to his seat, leaving the new engineer to her duties.
