"It's been a very long week here at Starbase 773. The Conferance with the Klingons and Cardassians was a success, but not without a lot of bitching and complaining from everyone involved. The Cardassians want to be fully integrated into the combined Federation/Klingon fleets, but the Klingons were opposed. The Klingons wanted to have access to all Cardassian Starbases, but the Cardassians were opposed. In the end, things worked themselves out and we have a solid plan in place for when this new alliance is finally signed at Deep Space Nine."

"I thought about stopping by DS9 before heading home to Starbase 400, but I didn't want to get stuck joining in on the official alliance talks. Besides, Quark still thinks I owe him ten strips of latinum for a bet HE lost nearly fifteen years ago. Besides, after all the yelling Leget Doran did, I need a day or two off duty. I admit he pushed all the right buttons."
