| Personal History | Born in 2364, to Salvatore and Connie Andolini, Maria was a smart child and as she grew it was obvious she had a desire for adventure. She applied to Starfleet academy and was accepted. Majoring in history she was moved to a sciences section, being a 'soft science' in a 'hard science' field she had her first inkling that Starfleet wasn't all it was cracked up to be. But she pushed on, and was second in her class. During that time she had reunited with a high school classmate, who had become a security/tactical cadet, Peter Garabaldi. When she graduated in 2386, they became engaged and were married in 2387 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church. After a brief Honeymoon on Argelius they met up with the USS Liberty, where she was a junior science officer, and aide to the Ship's Historian. After 1 1/2 years they were reassigned to the Heirophant, where she was to be Ship's Historian, During a contact with a Naussican renegade vessel, the Heirophant was destroyed, and Peter was killed . Moving back to earth she gave birth to their son, Roberto, 6 months later. As she looked to rebuild her life, she resigned from Starfleet, frustrated that the courts of inquiry, which she still looked at for justice, ruled the destruction a 'tragic accident' and found no fault in Captain Jack Custer, the Ship's CO recomending her recieve a Pike Medal for valor and be recommended for promotion. She left home in 2394 to give her son new experiences and to try her hand at making her own way in the universe. |
