Personality & Traits
General Overview | Most people call her Charlie. Charlie is a no BS kind of girl. She's low-maintenance, and calls things like she sees them. If you want an honest and fiercely loyal friend on your side, she's your go-to person. She respects authority, and cares deeply about her work, taking pride in making patients feel at ease, and helping them understand their condition and treatment.
Strengths & Weaknesses | Charlie is independent and not afraid to get her hands dirty and work on a project whether it's in her job description or not. She takes orders well, and has an excellent memory. She learns the needs and habits of the physicians she works with, and adapts easily to new situations. She has a tendency to over-extend herself and work long hours and neglecting her own self-care. With personal projects she hates asking for help, and will often find a way to accomplish things on her own, even if it takes twice as long as if she were to ask for help. This stems mainly from the fact that she hates to put people out, or to be a burden on anyone -- even though she is the first to lend a hand when a friend is in need.
Ambitions | Eventually she will want to teach at Starfleet Medical, but at the moment she craves the adrenaline rush of crisis management and the business of working on a busy Starship.
Hobbies & Interests | Painting, cultural immersion experiences: studying cultural practices, idioms, mannerisms, food, music, etc. of all known species - she truly enjoys it and she feels it helps her connect with her patients
Languages | Federation Standard, Bajoran |
Personal History | Charlie's father was an investigations officer, often assigned to Cardassian listening outposts before Charlie was born. Charlies mom is a civillian nurse. Charlie was twelve years old when the Dominion War ended, and she was dragged around as her parents volunteered with relief for various areas that were ravaged by the war. When permitted, she would assist her mother with providing medical aid, and it was through this experience that Charlotte realized she wanted to go into nursing. As a child Charlie begged her parents to provide her opportunities to learn the Bajoran language as she was fascinated by the history of the occupation, it's place on the front line of the Dominion War, and by how spiritual most Bajorans are. As she grew older her interests widened, and she looked for opportunites to participate in exchange programs on different planets. Charlie is always been driven by a desire to do the right thing and help people, and has strong opinions on social justice issues. |

Service Record | Starfleet Academy (Biology, Xenobiology) 2381-2385 Starfleet Nursing Program 2385-2387 USS Oakland 2387-2392 USS Nautilus 2392-2398 Nurse Dawes is an experienced trauma nurse. However, she also conducts medical research in addition to her clinical duties. Her xenobiology background sparked an interest in interspecies procreation, and has done substantial work on fertility protocols for assisting couples from different species who wish to have children, but may face difficulty procreating and/or carrying a child to term based on DNA compatibility. |

Simming History | Recently a small game on Discord and another on ProBoard. In the 90's, I was a high school student and played the role of a science officer on a starship, we had to snail mail in our posts. Just getting back into it. |
